The way these guys are playing, they may have a chance to learn again next year at Kentucky. I do not see "lottery Picks" yet from anyone on this team.

Ky will come around and will make the NCAA. A poor season may bring back some of their top 10 recruits for a NC run next year.

Your exactly right!! I don't see lottery picks either I see players that didn't compete. I don't mind losing, but give maximum effort I don't give a damn if you are a freshmen or not. I hope to see improvement today!!

Syracuse looked really good last night at Arkansas. They're a Final 4 contender, without a doubt.

I didn't watch the game but I kept track of the score and it appeared that Arkie gave them a pretty good run for their money.

Bama loses to Cinci just now. Thankfully we're known as a football conference.

Losing on a buzzer beater on the road to a good Cincy team isn't anything to be ashamed of, though.
I think we're obviously the best team in the conference right now. Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, and Ole Miss are all in that next tier. Arkansas is dangerous at home, but is pretty awful everywhere else.
It's obvious the conference is down this season, but I still think it has a good chance to get six bids.

I don't think the conference is down. Florida, Missouri, Bama, UT, and yes, UK, are going to be good. A couple others will probably also show up. LSU, maybe.

Not good for the RPI that nearly every SEC team lost.

Yes, although, the Big East is, top to bottom, at least until next year, far and away the best conference in the nation.

Its sad, but its not always the case. Josh Harrelson was a senior when he got it. Kyle Wiltjer isn't getting it and we'll see him getting meaningful minutes for the next few years.
I think what Jeff is alluding to is cases like Ryan Harrow. He won't literally be replaced, just essentially replaced if he doesn't get it and Andrew Harrison DOES get it as a freshmen. He'll still have a scholarship and can earn playing time like anyone else. Its no different than being a quarterback in football. Say you're a junior and you're struggling and the following year a stud freshmen comes in. Guess what, you're gonna be on the bench if you're not as effective as the guy behind you. A coach who rewards seniority at the expense of effectiveness is doing his program a disservice.

I agree that Jeff wasn't promoting the practice of taking their scholarship away from them.
It is a reality that new additions have the opportunity to take a veteran's job away if they out practice and out perform them on the court. Minutes should be earned, not given.

It is early, but the Big 10 actually has the best RPI to date, and about 5 teams in the top 20.
Florida, Kentucky, and Missouri will have to carry the SEC and so far the other two aren't holding up their end of the bargain.

Come NCAA tourney time, we may not be as battle hardened as some of the other teams.
