Florida State loses to Mercer 61-56
Not a good looking team right now.
Sure they'll be pumped up on Wednesday.

So the way the Gators are playing - does a fired up FSCW mean we win by less than 20?!

That's a pathetic loss. They have about three seven footers including a Russian named Boris who couldn't play dead in a cowboy movie. We need to put the wood to them!

FSU always brings it's best game against the Gators.
However, although Mercer usually fields a very good team, they shouldn't be competitive against SEC or ACC teams.

Mercer actually is really good this year. The A-Sun seems to be pretty decent as a conference in general this year.

You can bet our tail this is a game where Donovan will examine closely how seriously the kids take things. Playing at home against teams like Marquette or Wisconsin is one thing, as is a season opener like Georgetown, but going on the road to a struggling in-state opponent will give coaches angina. It is easy to get overconfident and end up losing. I suspect Donovan wants to see his team take FSU as seriously as it has taken previous opponents. If the defense is good early, I think that will be a pretty good indication the staff got what they wanted.

Florida State had a close one against A-Sun's North Florida a couple weeks ago. The North Florida that got stomped by Minnesota by about 30 points a couple days ago.

It's FSU and they have ACC talent. Leonard will pour everything they have into defending us. The game will be a grind and our guys are going to get the message from coach.

If we take this game seriously, and treat it like a game against our rivals with a desire to beat them as badly as possible, I think this game mirrors the Marquette game

I can't imagine our players not having this game circled all year on the calendar. It's friggin' FSU. The guys know what that means.

It may not have the same intensity as football but you're right. It's FSU. Gotta beat 'em.

Mercer has 4 losses already one to Ill-Chicago by 26...they are not a good team.

We just need to do two things:
1. Win
2. Instruct all Gator Fans in attendance to yell "Just like football - clap clap, clap clap clap" when the game is over or the outcome is certain :-)

...and the Noles don't have "ACC talent". They have Snaer and Okaro White, and that's it. The rest of their team is complete garbage

All they do is play defense. They will make the game a grind.
I don't know all the guys they have but Hamilton has recruited well over the years. If they are all stiffs I'll take your word for it.

We'll see. I know they are favored to win the A-Sun this year which has a few decent teams in it. FGCU just beat Miami, UNF played FSU close and has held tight in a few other games against ranked teams, etc.
