Great quotes from Buzz...
"I've never been beat this bad in my entire career," fifth-year Marquette coach Buzz Williams said. "In 179 games as a head coach, that's the worst loss. Not close."
I'm guessing he is hoping to not see us for awhile after the NCAA Tourney game and last night.
"I think they're good enough to win the whole thing," Williams said.
Do you think he really believes this or is this just a coach trying to validate his teams loss?

Yes and yes. This is a good team. Deep, balanced, experienced, competitive, unselfish, long, athletic. It really has everything you want and it dominated yesterday with the team's top scorer shooting poorly, the starting center coming off the bench as discipline, and a true freshman with four ppg to his credit previously leading the team in scoring. Of course, anyone can make a run in the tournament, but this team has what it takes to be successful the entire season.

I don't know if we're the best team out there, but we're solidly in the conversation. Calling it now: we win the SEC regular season, and we're gonna be seeded 1, 2, or 3 in the NCAA.

We will be a 1 seed IMO if we win the SEC, our OOC schedule is very good. We need to beat Zona and FSU though...

I love the fan enthusiasm, but it's early in the year. We look good, I agree. March is a long way off.

He doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who will just say something that he doesn't mean. When ESPN kept cutting away to him last night, he wasn't excited, he didn't appear to be coaching hard and he just looked almost like he was thinking "UF is for real and we're just not there yet". Sort of like a shoulder shrug.
Remember in the early Billy days when we just ran the hell out of the other team and then brought out another fresh 5? The looks on the faces of those coaches/players? We don't have those sheer numbers, but so far we have just imposed our will on other teams.
We are putting down the clamps defensively with a real emphasis on rebounding, too. It's been uber impressive.

this reminds me of '06 w/ the early season wins. of course, '06 i had zero expectations...we return alot this year, but i was thinking we might be slightly 'down' from last season's elite 8...however: i agree w/ the assessment that we are a final four team [right now]. looking for continued improvement too as the season goes forward.
what a game by PY last night vs marq.!?! and prather is coming into his own. factor in some frazier - wow! look out!

I tend to think he means it.
Perhaps what put him in that frame of mind was Frazier and Prather coming off the bench and both proving somewhat devastating.
