Gator All-NBA Team
Give me yours. There are two versions - current players, and all-time.

Current...
C- Horford
PF- Lee
SF- Brewer
SG- Beal
PG- Noah I don't see a true option at the 1 and gotta find a way to get the best 5 on the floor
I guess you could get Parsons to run the point and move Horford to the 4 and Noah to the 5
I'd give my all-time but I'd show my age/relative lack of Gator B-ball NBA history

Current
Sadly, we need some players playing out of position to make the current roster work.
C - Horford
PF - Lee
SF - Parsons
SG - Brewer
PG - Beal
All-Time
Let's go for a two-deep.
C - Horford, Walk
PF - Lee, Noah
SF - Miller, Parsons
SG - Maxwell, Beal
PG - Williams, Green

Well, Noah is averaging just over 4 assists per game this year, which leads all former Gators.

I'd probably switch Roberson for Green just based on NBA stats, but otherwise I think these are very solid picks.

I agree - solid picks although I wasn't even sure if Roberson or Green had ever played in an NBA game. We need some more PG competition.
Also, I'm looking forward to the day when Horford can play PF. So, I would probably switch Horford and Noah: Noah to C and Horford to PF.
Bonner and Brewer just missed the cut. Who else is being left out that played in the league?

Based on sustained performance and NBA longevity, Udonis Haslem for one.

We have a lot more big men than guards in the league, which is strange given that Billy can't develop big men.

Of course, Haslem!!!! Obviously, I could use a list of all the Gators that have played in the NBA
There was Dwayne Schintzius,...uhhhh...that's it for me off the top of my head
Was Walk the only NBA Gator until Maxwell came along?
Transfers: Did James White make it into the NBA? Or, the transfer from Gainesville whose name escapes me right now (think 5-second inbounds call against Creighton)?

James White currently plays for the Knicks.

OG did play in the NBA for a few years on various teams (Celtics, Pacers, Kings, Nets). He's in the D-League right now.

You're also forgetting Marreese Speights as for Gators currently playing in the NBA (plays for Memphis). Big time Gator fan, always tweets during Gator games.

I tend to agree with Goth, although Lurker, with Green/Roberson, makes a strong point, and, of course Osiris points out the obvious, how could one leave UD off that list?
It is very interesting that the Gators, a 3-point shooting team, have so many big men and so few guards.
I think the Transfer Regurgi was thinking about is Orien Green. Or was that the Green you were suggesting Goth. I thought of Taureen Green.

It was Orien whose name I couldn't recall. I had remembered the name by the time I logged back on, but I saw someone (GatorLurker) had already answered that for me.
Speights may end up moving up the list. He's pretty productive when he gets minutes.

Some earlier NBA Gators:
Neal Walk (all-time rebounder for Phoenix suns; picked 2nd behind UCLA's Lew Alcinder)
Vernon Maxwell ('Mad Max' helped Houston win its first NBA championship - '95)
Dwayne Schintzius (bench player)
Andrew DeClerq (good rebounding PF; finished with Orlando Magic)
Jason Williams ('White Chocolate' & UD helped Miami win its first NBA championship - '06)
Matt Bonner (teams up with Tim Duncan & San Antonio Spurs; championships - ?)

Maxwell actually played a lot of point guard in the NBA!
All-time List?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PG: V.Maxwell, J.Williams /T.Green/A.Roberson
SG: B.Beal, C.Brewer
SF: M.Miller, C.Parsons
PF: D.Lee, J.Noah, U.Haslem, M.Bonner, M.Speights /A.DeClerq/C.RIchards/
C: A.Horford, N.Walk / D.Schintzius/V.Macklin
This would make a very good NBA team!

Without jinxing anyone's chances, Florida may put out at least a couple of more NBA guards and another 3-4 PF's in the next two NBA drafts!

Good list, but worth pointing out that Bonner is still playing. He started for the Spurs last night in Miami. Interesting having 3 guys from that 2000 Final Four team on the court.
