Anthony DeSclafani traded to the Marlins

According to many, many published reports,the Blue Jays have traded former Gator pitcher Anthony DeSclafani to the Marlins. DeSclafani was 11-3 with a 3.37 ERA, 92 strikeouts, 25 walks and only three homers in 123 innings for Lansing of the Midwest League in 2012.

Oh, also included in the deal were Mark Buerhle, Jose Reyes and Josh Johnson, who went to the Blue Jays for DeSclafani, Yunel Escobar and a bunch of guys you've never heard of. You know, if you're interested in the rest of the trade.

Guess it wasn't a bad stadium causing fire sales, hope south Florida enjoys that giant mistake.

Jeffrey Loria is laughing all the way to the bank on that deal. How long till he sells the team?

Great day to be a Blue Jay. The AL east just got a lot tougher. Yankees, sox, rays, will need to step up. Feel bad for Stanton, hopefully Marlins trade him also, otherwise nobody will pitch to him and he will be totally frustrated next year.

As for DESclafani, could be a good move. If he performs, probably shorter trip to the majors and if he does well the Marlins will trade him to a contender.

Glad I went to see the new stadium last year, even saw a couple of wins. No need to go back now until there is new ownership. Will be a lot of cheap seats for Met/Braves/phillies fans.

Will the Marlins ever be contenders again?

As a Marlins fan, it's very discouraging. I won't be spending another dime on the team until Loria is gone. Knowing Florida, they just might make the cheap players work out, but they just traded away so many marquee players, most people will only know a couple on the team next year. That is not not to fill up the stadium. Loria is in it for the money and nothing else. Time to throw him out of baseball. But Selig is buddies with him apparently so Miami will have to boycott and chase him out.
