Rosario is Still the Starter
Per Billy, he's happy with Mike's play, although concerned about the turnovers.
Also, Casey P has been wearing a padded boxing helmet in practice. Pat thinks it might even help his game, because it limits his vision and forces him to swivel his body.

Sounds good! Hope Rosario can keep the bad plays to a minimum. Looking at some of the first half of that last game again, other than his outside shooting, Rosario was playing pretty well and making a lot of positive things happen in the first half by putting pressure on the defense by driving the ball and passing.

I agree. I'm glad Billy is not overreacting. Rosario has the potential to be a real difference maker for this year's team.

Donovan does not like to change lineups when UF is winning. He probably kept Young coming off the bench longer than his ankle required last year. I suspect that foul trouble among his bigs might get him to change his lineup without a loss.

Also, I believe Rosario is a player who just seems to play better when starting as opposed to coming off the bench. I truly believe that if BD benches him, he'll end up as a bust.

I didn't think Rosario played too poorly against UCF, except for the no look alley oop which would have drawn him bench time even if it worked, plus, I like the idea of bringing Scotty and Casey in at the same time to turn up the defense a notch

The biggest difference I see in Rosario is that in spite of sometime flawed technique.... he is really making a solid effort on the defensive end.
Without a doubt, this is giving him a bit longer leash than he had last season.

There are benefits and costs no matter what one chooses to do.
And yes, Billy D doesn't like to make lineup changes when the team is winning with a fair degree of consistency.

Mike is a lot of fun to watch. He's quite a creative scorer.

I love Mike when he curls in the lane - he's got a nice, creative game. He still is not very good defensively but at least is putting forth the effort.
