Nice win for the women...
Just beat NC State 66-64. Needles hit a huge three with about ten seconds to go to win it. Close games have been troublesome the last few years. This team is younger, but more talented and this has to be a good sign. They should get better as the year progresses. Moss had a double-double. I don't think Cooper played, but not sure of that. I never heard her name on the radio feed. Team needs to work on post entry and foul shooting (George was terrible at the line).

Excellent job on the road!

Great job by the (very) young women! I have a feeling no one will want to be facing us come tourney time. It would be nice if we don't have to play the best team in the tourney in the first or second round

If we win some more games and are seeded higher come tourney time, we won't have too.
I see a higher upside with this team and a chance to go further than the second round of the NCAA.

fire the coach, fire the coach... what has amanda done... fire the coach.... blah blah blah!!! /sarcasm
Love Amanda and what she is building. Hope the WBB team has a big year and finally shuts up the haters. WBB is a tough sport to build a program in, but I certainly see steady progress being made.
Keep it up Amanda! And Go Gators!!!!

They did lose a game Sunday to Arizone State. (4th game in 7 days with a young team and a player out) I am surprised the fire Butler crowd wasn't out. After all she is only the winningest UF coach through their first five years. This year will have some sore spots and some flashes of greatness as well due to so much youth. Butler is set now though. Her contract was extended to 2017 and UF should be a top 20 team next year with bulk of the talent being underclassmen still. UF is in line for more elite recruits the next few classes as well.

I didn't know about the extension. That's good to hear. Continuity is a must in WBB.

Didn't we just sign the 13th best player in the country for the 2013 recruiting class?

Asu want 1-3 when they played us. We seem to lose some games ever year to people we should beat. Our track record in WBB is not good. So being the best in five years is an major improvement but still. You guys remind me of when i was a student way back when. It was always "wait till next year" until we got a great coach SOS.

Comparing women's bball to football is like comparing apples to oranges. I don't think anyone ever said wait until this year as the team lost a ton of seniors. 2013/14 has been the projected breakout year by most for a while now. The talent is far better this year, no doubt, but so much youth is going to hurt at times. Luckily Foley seems to understand what Amanda has done and is building....he wouldn't have extended her contract otherwise.

The women's RPI is 23, even with the 2 losses, and the gamer predictor has them going 10-6 in league. And they are only going to get better this year and next as the team matures and adds depth.
