That's a good example and if that were Grier's role at UF I hope he has the same luck.

I see no reason why the kid couldn't put on 20-30 pounds between now and his first game as a Gator--if that is what he and the coaches want.

20lbs at least but that's not an automatic. Even Aaaron Murray was listed at 200+ in HS, which was probably generous, but two years after arriving on campus is listed at 210.

He just needs a QB that has arm strength enough so he's not waiting for the ball every time he beats a defender...

But Die, my points are that (1) his weight is only important if he is to have a bunch of carries as a QB (Murray does not), and (2) in any event, plenty of running QBs weigh much less. Tommy Frazier was about 200 pounds. Eric Crouch was about 210. Pat White weighed less than 200.

Halfway through his junior year in high school, I'm not worried about his height or his weight.

Clark's got hands, jets, brains, the whole package. It's baffling that he was under radar for so long.
I see that he has a lot of December visits. Wonder if he's an EE. He could run indoor track as soon as he got on campus.

I hope you are not inviting a Gator fan for dinner! This reeks of recruiting violations! Plus, creating a cyber "paper" trail may not be the smartest thing to do.

As long as the person is not a booster member and nothing is exchanged it's legal

Those are really CRAZY statistics, of course you get that sort of stuff when there are about 15 boys in a school.
That is, however, really out of sight, sort of like the over 130 points that Grinnel guard scored against an utterly overmatched opponent. These two were not that far from each other, but obviously, their coaches bought the "If you score enough, they can't beat you philosophy," as opposed to the "If they can't score, they can't beat you," philosophy

Since my junior high days, I could truly pass the ball with a tight spiral.
I was the "Larry Ochab" of the day.
13 was my favorite number.
I was left-handed and I was 6'5" and I could throw all the passes.
The bomb... the intermediates... the down and outs... the fades, the timing patterns, etc.
Actually could throw a bomb 70 yards. I could get on the 20 and toss it to the other side of Florida Field at the 10 yard line. I was so big and had such long arms I could wing it. And I actually was taught by a former Gator who played for Spurrier to pass it the way Spurrier would throw it.
Don't sling it... keep the ball high, next to your ear, flip your wrist and let your pinky finger be the last finger leaving the ball. Tight spiral. Loved it.
Problem was:
NO COLLEGES looked to me as a quarterback.
My 40 time was not real fast (4.8)... and I was 245 lbs as a senior coming out of Tampa Plant. NO colleges in the land would look at a quarterback that big.
They wanted me as a left-sided offensive tackle (left-handed).
Little did I know that I would wind up screwing up my shoulder later on in life.
I just had left rotator cuff surgery two years ago...because I wore out the cuff in my late teens and early twenties.
The shoulder surgeon told me that rotator cuff surgery is often referred to as, "The Old Man's Condition"... or..."The Geezer Disease."
And it is ALWAYS comes about because of what we did to our shoulders earlier in life.
Bummer!
I know Guys... Glory Days... I will grab my walker and leave now...
