Caleb Brantley (good news)
Zach Abolverdi @ZachAbolverdi
#Florida DT commit Caleb Brantley told me he was head-to-toe in #Gators gear and is "never" coming back to #FSU ... except as a #UF player.

It was a tough game but UF had to impress him. He decided he wants to play that kind of football.

Well, he certainly couldn't be accused of complaining about playing time. As far as I could see, FSU's defense got PLENTY of time on the field last night...
Teehee!

With Brantley solidified, might we be done at DT? Not that we'd turn Adams away.

Do you think it will be JUCO or a plan B high school kid?

I think they would take Adams Bostwick and Reed (JUCO). Its not a pressing need anymore especially if you take two other Dlinemen. So its we are just going to have to see who wants to be a part of this class.

Glad to see he finally saw the light. I am very curious if we would have got the same response if we had lost.

Getting Cummings took a lot of pressure off. It's good to know someone is coming in who can help right away. Brantley's probably a year away. We need to see how big some of these committed DEs are when they show up on campus. One of Ivie and Riles could easily be a DT, or five-technique DE in a 3-4. Of the two, Ivie sounds like a very instinctive defender and could help out soon wherever he ends up. I think we got a steal there.

If we run a 3-4, and Easley comes back, we could have Powell, with Fowler (and possibly Daniel or Ogundeko; Sherit likely to redshirt due to his ACL) at buck, Bullard with Quinteze Williams, or Cox Jr. at end, Orr with Jacobs and Cummings at NT, and Easley, with McCalister and Riles at other end. Not too shabby if you ask me.
Also a likely possibility would be to have Powell, Fowler, Easley (or Orr) and Bullard out at the same time as buck and D-line. That's pretty sick after one more off season with Dillman...

Ogundeko will most likely redshirt so will Sherit. I expect Ivey to see the field at DE. If Powell is 100 percent it will change the defense we had no dominate pass rusher this year and he can be that.

I wonder how Sherit's rehab is going.
Also, I'm really stoked about Ivie. Can't go wrong with a strong, high motor guy. I expect he'll contribute as much as anyone in his class.

I wonder why ESPN only rates him as a three star...seems like he should be a lot higher.

Media is not always going to get it right, they have way too many players to evaluate and some players fit different schemes differently and some players develop like crazy or under develop after senior year etc. That's why stars really don't mean too much (although they can be a rough indicator of how good some players are, but a guy like ira denson wasn't even ranked until he showed up at a camp and dominated everyone)ee
Our staff has done a great job of evaluating talent from what I've seen (at least defensively) so if they take a 3 star kid, chances are he has a ton of potential.

Kinda given up on Powell. However, I'm high on Dante and Bullard.
