Scottie Wilbekin had a monster game off the bench with career highs in scoring, assists and rebounds in a 79-66 victory over the UCF Knights. Scottie scored 17 points with 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and 2 turnovers giving him a Value Score of 107. Following Scottie closely was senior Kenny Boynton with a Value Score of 92 earned on a team high 24 points and career high 8 rebounds. Casey Prather played only 13 minutes but that was long enough for Casey to come in third, racking up a Value Score of 54 with 8 points on 3-3 shooting, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.
As a team, the Gators came out cold shooting 0-9. Once again their defense bailed them out in the 1st half enabling them to get out to an 18 point lead. During the 2nd half, the Gators appeared as they were in a tryptophan hangover as the UCF Knights cut the lead to 7 points before the Gators woke up and extended it back to 18 and an eventual 13 point win. Overall, a good Gator victory with a week off before taking on the Marquette Golden Eagles.
