Early Prediction Thread
I thought it might be fun to throw some early predictions out there. Both regular season and SEC schedule. I wanted to run it by you folks to see how you felt or if you would rather wait a while longer. I don't see why people couldn't adjust their predictions some as the season goes along, or at least up to a point.

Sweet. I think we had something like this last year and I remember doing pretty poorly. So heres my second chance!
Player of the Year:
It's pretty apparent that it will come down to either Boynton or Murphy, so I'm going to go ahead and say Boynton. I'll say he averages 15 PPG, 4 APG, and 4 RPG. Not to mention, shutting down people defensively.
OOC Schedule:
Record: 11-2
Losses: Marquette, @ Arizona
SEC Schedule:
Record: 14-4
Losses: @ Missouri, @ UK, Alabama, UK
Overall:
Record: 25-6
Postseason: Win the SEC Tournament, #2 seed, 3rd straight Elite Eight

POY: Boynton will get it, but Yeguette could prove more valuable to the team.
OOC record: 10-3
SEC record: 12-6
Overall: 22-7 against a brutal schedule
Postseason: 2-1 in the SEC Tourney, 2-1 in the NCAA tourney after getting a 4 seed

Too Early to have much idea yet, but, assuming no major injuries, and assuming Prather returns at full or nearly full speed:
POY - Boynton with Yeguete a close second
OOC Record: 10-2 or 11-1
Most likely losses: Kansas State, Arizona, Marquette
SEC Record: 14-4
Most likely losses: @Kentucky, @Tennessee, @Missouri, perhaps Ky or Bama at home
Overall: 25-5
Postseason: 2-1 SEC Tourney, Final Four

Overall 27-3
Win SEC
Win it all.
POY. Will
Why not?

I really like this team.
OOC - Lose to K State in KC and @ AZ. Both games close.
SEC - 14-2. Lose @ KY and one random game
SEC T - Win
NCAA - Lose in Championship game
POY - KB

Looks like we may need to re-evaluate our predictions. I'm not saying we're unstoppable but hot damn we're looking better than anyone could have anticipated. Granted it's still November (for a few more hours), I can only hope this team continues to improve. If that's the case I see something similar to what GatorLurker is predicting, there's no reason this team can't go all the way..and even get through Dec still undefeated.
Sky's the limit for this team. We're just too deep, experienced and talented. Our D is sick.
POY - Young
SEC - 14-2
OOC - 11-1
Win SEC
Final Four, then anything can happen

The only thing that I'll differ with you on your prediction is that we'll have two random losses instead of one. Those random losses come up at the most unexpected times. That's a good reason to call them random.

Funny that I predicted a loss to Arizona yet I was so mad about it at the time. If anything, I now think we'll go 15-3 in the SEC instead of 14-4.

I also predicted the loss. I knew it would be a tight game, but it really hurts to lose when you have the game in your hands.
$h1t happens on the road. But in this case it was more like diarrhea.
Perhaps I should retract my predictions of several more losses (K State in KC, @Rupp, random SEC loss, NCAA Championship game). I really am not invested in being right for any of these games. I would much rather be wrong for all of them.

Oh yeah, absolutely. It's just funny that despite predicting the loss, I honestly expected a win. Weird how that works. I guess it's the orange and blue glasses I have one.

I am so sorry that I predicted in the "Early Prediction Thread" a loss to K-State.
I have no joy in being perfect so far.
The good news is that I predicted a 14-2 SEC record, winning the SEC T, and making the Championship Game in the NCAA's.

The bad news is that your predicted 14-2 record in the SEC is impossible, unless we have two games cancelled.

I think you'll be wrong on your SEC record, unless we play the 17th and 18th on a ship and they get cancelled due to weather.

Things change as time goes on.
I was reasonably correct about the OOC - 10-2 with losses to Arizona & K-State - not quite as good as Lurker.
However, regarding SEC losses - Tennessee looks less likely since their top player will be redshirted, and they must be replaced by Texas A&M who the Gators are playing without their Lock Down 3 (Prather) - OUCH!!!
Maybe 15-3 rather than 14-4 - if so, that would make it 25-5 as I guessed early on.
This is a very good team, but it is severely nagged by injuries (I assume Yeguete had that injured Knee against K-State).
