Just watching Indiana- Georgetown and Katz reports that Donovan contacted Gtown about making up 2nd half. FYI

Why on earth would Georgetown agree to resume the Florida game?

The game is likely to be played in Jacksonville and Donovan said Florida would help compensate Georgetown's travel expenses.
Saw this on twitter.

We only have a couple dates in common and would have to be done before league play. In the air now.

Would it be a full game or just the 2nd half with the score as it was?

What does that have to do with this subject? I'm sure there are other threads to bash the Kentucky coach. That is all history now time to move on.

I don't think this happens either. Georgetown is playing pretty well right now, why finish a game that you trailed at the half when it does not count against you now? If Florida wins, it looks really good on their resume so I see why Billy wants to get the game finished but just don't see Georgetown interested in taking the chance.

Gainesville Sun story
http://www.gainesville.com/article/2...Savannah-State
"Seventh-ranked Florida has now allowed fewer than 30 points in eight of the nine halves it has played this season if you count the Georgetown half-a-game.
And you may be able to count that game soon. Donovan also revealed during his post-game news conference that UF has reached out to Georgetown to finish that game in Jacksonville prior to SEC play.
“There are some dates,” he said. “Our school has reached out to them (to finish the game).”

Wasn't it only a 4 point game at the half? The game would benefit them too. Four pts is not much to make up.

Amazing that Georgetown wouldn't take their chances in beating the 7th ranked team. The only condition that I would request is to play the game from the beginning. No "picking it up from halftime."

I wonder if Wilbiken would still be reinstated for that game?

Probably would make a decent thread. Not many around here seem to realize the reasons why and how much more sense it makes to play big teams the way he's choosing to play them. Its not like it left UK with an easy schedule either. Pretty sure there are 4 ranked teams in the OOC alone, including 2 top 10.

That isn't an option. NCAA rules basically say the game picks up from where it left off or it doesn't get finished at all.

Good question about Wibekin and Prather for that matter.

I doubt that the continued game takes place, but I can see why both teams might want it to. I don't think the Selection Committee would hold the loss against either team, but would smile upon the victory by either team.
Speaking of the Selection Committee, if the UF/Georgetown game is NOT completed, don't you just know the Committee will put us in the same half of the same region?

Good point. And will Prather be back? The fact that we were considerably shorthanded in the original game makes it less likely that Georgetown would want to finish it.
