I'm going to have to give UT some credit, considering Maymon being out, that 20 point loss to OK St doesn't look so bad after OK St also beat NC St by 20 in PR tourney in the final.
Ok St is for real, apparently.

And the man wins a kewpie doll.
RPI does not even take into account home court/road game/neutral game, let alone margin of victory.
Not true. When you play a home game the result is multiplied by 0.6, neutral game X1.0, away game X1.4. This weighting of results has a big time affect on the RPI.

I forgot that they changed it in 2004 with the "secret" adjustment. My mistake.

Well what do you know. When I wrote that I thought the game was going to be at IU, but it's in Brooklyn, NY. Still I wouldn't have expected UGA to play IU to a 30-29 halftime lead either :-p Still there's a half of basketball left and I expect IU will pull away.
Meanwhile MSU is getting trounced by UNC. :-\

You guys tend to overreact to November games. We played much better in beating UMass 83-69 yesterday. This team will be in the NCAA tournament which is all I care about...and yeah I remember that thread entitled "Let's take a moment to laugh at Tennessee" that was on here at exactly this time last year. Evidently, it is Cuonzo's m.o. to do some experimenting with the rotation early in the season and Maymon is out anyway. I won't be alarmed if there are some unimpressive looking scores before Christmas.

Last year UTn lost:
1. at Oakland and I am not talking about the Raiders.
2. Austin Peay AT HOME
3. at Charleston, these first three were in a row in late November and early December
They had some other bad losses including to what turned out to be a bad Pitt team AT HOME and on 10 December had a record of 3-6. But then at 7-7 beat UF the first of two times, got hot and tied for 2nd/4th in the SEC with UF and Vandy and almost made the NCAA.
Here is their 2011-12 schedule and results before anyone gets to sure they will not challenge UF:

Miss State was without 2 starters today... But they got absolutely killed. New coach had A LOT of work to do. UF/UK... Mizzou... UT/Bama.. Arky... In those tiers. Just my humble projections.

I am not sure that UAR does not belong in with Missouri. That is based more on Anderson their coach, not any players beyond BJ Young.

Kentucky is #2
Florida is #4
Alabama is #27
Missouri is #33
Ole Miss is #51
Tennessee is #68
Texas A&M is #99
Vanderbilt is #102
Arkansas is #107
Georgia is #115
LSU is #123
South Carolina is #146
Auburn is #173
Mississippi State is #177
Arkansas may be a little low and Georgia may be a little high. Those rankings look pretty accurate to me other than that, though.

I guess this confirms we're still a FB conference from top to bottom.

I remember that thread and wondered if it was such a good idea at the time. It's typical of a football mentality being brought to basketball.
Martin looks like he will do well at UT. If they didn't blow a couple of those early season games, they very well may have made the NCAA last year. They were playing well enough at season's end to warrant a bid, based on that criteria alone.

Somehow both these teams seem to get better when we play them at their place.
