We've got enough beef at LB next year that I'm not too worried about the middle of our defense. Not to mention the type of guys we could be slipping inside for some depth (Bullard, Fowler) have proven so far to be disruptive as true freshmen. Bodes well for longterm development.

I don't think the sky is falling but it does hurt to imagine M Adams and Tunsil picking UGA with staff still working hard, hoping to find suitable OL/DL so we don't fall behind in talent.

If Reed leaves do we take a step back on offense?

How so? Jones and Brown haven't even got Bama's true frosh Yeldon's stats combined. How can you say they will be better than Gillie when both haven't shown much at all. We all saw what Gillie could do but these 2 aren't even Kentucky-caliber. 215 yards between the 2 of them on 58 carries. 3.7 yards per carry. Yeldon has 754 yards with a 6.7 pyc. Life without Gillie is going to be very difficult.

Thought Lacy was a senior but he's a junior. I guess comparing Gillie to Lacy won't work here. Yeldon is quickly turning into a quality recruit but Brown and Jones haven't. I really haven't seen anything from Jones. He runs too tall and hasn't shown any speed. He needs to learn to lean a little and use his legs to power his way through tackles. We'll see if the coaches can break him of that habit.

You also have to take into effect bama's monster O line who will all be in the NFL. Our offense line is not even comparable to theirs. And the defenses we face load the box regularly, against bama not so much. I do believe yeldon is better than our jones and brown, however

The major difference will be the Oline next year. The additions of Garcia, Moore, hopefully Trenton Brown will be huge. Add in Humphries with more weight and Chaz Green with more experience. Between Lane, Taylor, Brown and Gillie the running backs will be fine.

when you factor in the recruiting class which could end up being one of the best ever, recent juco commits and perhaps a few more pick ups, 2013 could be very very special.
Not that 2012 was way better than I expected (9-3) and I am an OPTIMIST.

Not really, he's by far our best offensive weapon who isn't graduating, he's our only legitimate matchup problem currently.

That's nice hope they like running against 9 or 10 in the box since that's what they'll face all year. Honestly I don't think a Muschamp coached team will ever have an offense in the Top 25 much less on the level of any of our championship (SEC or MNC) squads from the past.
