This is the first time I've ever heard Billy not be able to say what he wanted to and couldn't find a word to express himself (when he was talking about the echo). Also, I think he was so choked up he was slurring his words like he was drunk. lol

Am I the only one that noticed?

I initially wrote off his unusual bad speaking after the game to the echo, but I think the OP may be on to something. I think Billy may have been so upset by how things ended up that he was having trouble expressing himself.

Nope because right after they called the game the sideline reporter interviewed him, and he sounded perfectly normal.

It wasn't until he was given a microphone to talk to the crowd that he sounded drunk.

First time I've ever heard him sound like he was at a complete loss for words. It was kind of funny actually, that echo really confused the hell out of him. Coach Thompson did fine with it though.

I think the loss for words was the echo, I think the slurring was the emotion of the whole event.

After a couple of mistakes, I was wondering if he was having a stroke! I actually felt some relief when he mentioned he was having a problem with the echo. I think the echo caused him to end a couple of sentences before he got the last word of the sentence out.

I noticed it, too, but his comment about the feedback made sense. Hell, I can't even have a phone conversation when my cell goes haywire with that, let alone address troops publicly with a diplomatic statement.

Trying to speak when you can hear yourself with a very slight delay is incredibly disorienting. I've experienced the exact thing that happened to Billy. He wasn't choked up or drunk (though he did sound it), hearing his own voice just messed him up.
