Bell's Two-Hearted Ale and Summit IPA are two of the better beers served in our region. Enjoying a Bell's right now.

I traded with a guy out in California. Sent him some Moat Water for it.

My local store just got a case of 120. I'm getting at least 4. What a week!

Blue Point Toasted Lager - not bad
Bold City Duke's Cold Nose Brown Ale - very nice
Ray - you are living the dream. I had the same question as StrangeGator (where did you get that). The only time that I have seen the Pliny was at a store in Ocean Beach near San Diego, but I did not purchase it. I will next time.

Just had some Russian River supplication. Not a huge sour fan, but as far as they go, it was killer!
Also some kentucky bourbon barrell ale. Really good and unique. Sweet like you would expect.
BTW,
120 min anyone? Really would love to trade a four pack for something I can't get here. Maybe I'll age it and then it will be more valuable next yr.

I've just been fortune to make some great connections around the country recently. I can only hope they last!
I'm going to the World of Beer festival in Lakeland tomorrow. Has anyone ever been to one? Hoping it's worth it, the lineup is decent.

Our two stores got passed over for the 120 this time. The stuff that got to metro Chicago probably went to the bigger locations of those chains (Binny's, Whole Foods). Binny's got the Backwoods Bastard, but the manager that always saves stuff for me was on vacation that week. That's all fine with me. The quality of the beer I can get any day of the year is so vastly superior to what I was drinking ten years ago that I have nothing to complain about.
Truth be told, I'm drinking more than I should these days. Might take another break for a month or two. After tonight though. Testing at the dojo tonight, then we're all going out together. My sensei is moving to Hawaii next week after running the dojo for 23 years. Should be a nice send-off.

I went to a different store today that I don't usually go, because I heard they had a great selection. While in there I struck up a good conversation with the employee. I asked if they got any 120 in, he said not this time. I told him that's unfortunate, and that my usual store a few miles down the road got some in and gave me 4. The owner must have overheard me, and came over to question. He saw I had a large selection of IPA's and we started talking. He told his employee to go in the back to his private stash, and get me one of his 120's. The employee brought it out, and the owner said here you can have one of mine from last year, it's been aging since.
I'll definitely be going back to that store, which I could tell was his intent.

Wanted to take it a little lighter today, trying a bomber of My Antonia. It's a nice change of pace, I probably wouldn't drink it regularly but a bomber here and there would be nice.
Will probably close out the evening watching Ted with the wife, while drinking a 75 minute and calling it a night. Can't wait for the beer festival tomorrow!

Ted is hilarious. I'm having a Sammy winter lager at TGIF.
