Hoyas were the #1 in the nation at defending the 3pt shot last year so good luck trying to shoot us out of the zone especially outdoors on a ship.

No one really knows if "They're not good this year". They replaced three starters. yes, but other than that, you or no one else knows how "good" they are. For me, i'll watch some of the season, before deciding who's good or not, conference projections often times mean sqaudoosh.

Thanks for the breakdown of your team. Last season, Florida was one of the top 3-pt shooting teams in the nation (Kenny Boynton & Murphy both shot over 40% from 3pt-range). Florida gave both Big East teams, Louisville & Marquete, fits in the second week of the NCAA tourney & also played Syracuse/Rutgers close on their home floors so the Gators certainly have some experience playing some teams from your conference. Florida returns seven players from that team but the Gators seemed to have lost both their PG (Scottie Wilbekin) & their SF (Casey Prather to a second concussion this week) for this game against Georgetown.

Fourth year starter Kenny Boynton will probably switch over to PG, perhaps Mike Rosario will play SG and at SF, the Gators may have to use either a true freshman (Michael Frazier) or Will Yuguete. Florida will have to rely upon some of their other freshmen for back-up duty: PG Braxton Ogbueze (top 50 ESPN player), SG Graham Dillon, & Devon Walker.

In the post, it should be a good duel between UF's Patric Young/ Erik Murphy/Will Yuguete against G'town's Otto Porter & company. Florida will try to break the zone by passing the ball inside to their PF near the FT line: the 6'10" Murphy is an excellent passer & he will need to make good decisions when UF passes the ball inside. Florida played Syracuse's zone tough but they were missing Murphy when they played the Orangemen last year. This should be a good game; the weather conditions could make it tough on both teams - it could be windy & the temperature could dip in to the 40s late in the game! They should have played this game in the daytime.

Hoyas played lots of zone last year and were a terror on defense 7th best in the nation and 1st at defending 3 pointers. It's going to be cold and the out door arena will make it difficult to shoot on the ship.

Will Georgetown really use a 6'8" SG? Wow!
I wonder if Florida will try to press the Hoyas!

yes we will. He can defend any position on the court. He is an excellent perimeter defender. Here's a link to a CBS article naming him one of the best defenders in the nation. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...best-defenders He shot 35.7% from 3 last year but 44% from the beginning of BE play onwards. He has a pretty good handle especially for someone his size. There is concern about press, but the best way to beat a press is by passing. Porter often will come back to help break the press.

It's going to be a close competitive game. Can't wait!

I replied saying that this lineup would have limitations offensively, plus would make rotations difficult to work without Prather.

You replied to my post saying that Yeguete would be a pleasant surprise offensively.

I replied to your post agreeing that he could be, but that his skill set does not apply to playing the 3 in our system, which my reason for saying a lineup with all three of Young, Murphy and Yeguete in the game simultaneously would have limitations.

If your trying to say Murphy would play the 3, he skill set is almost equally inapplicable to playing the 3 in our system.

if we were to have those three on the floor together than, yes, either murph or will would be ill suited for our traditional 3 offensively though I would expect murph at the 3 on offense with Will guarding the opposite 3

That makes the most sense with those three and I don't know if there's any getting around it with Georgetown's size, unless one of our freshmen is able to handle the position on both ends of the court. Not saying this will be the starting group, but I think we'll see them out there together for extensive stretches. Murphy might be better suited for the three than he's given credit for. He's got a bit of Chandler Parsons in him.
