Intimigator1 goes on record as saying that any reference to replacing a 1 year player is tantamount to not a big deal. Now if he were a Senior and played well then a different story..he wasn't. Hardly knew ya Beal....oh that's right it's because you weren't here all that long. My ode to the one and done's.

Rosario has proven himself not to be a very reliable guy. He missed 25 practices last year due to a variety of small scale injuries (cue the Iverson quotes). I can concede a certain amount but not 25.
He makes me nervous when he's talked about as replacing Beal effectively. I just don't see it. Beal's rebounding was huge. Plus his determination and attitude will not be made up by Rosario unless MR is born again hard.

You replace Beal with Prather at SF, the rest of the line-up, Boynton pg, Frazier 2g, Will Y. PF, Pat Y. C. Now this is an athletic team. Murphy spells both Bigs. Sometimes moving Prather to PF to help give breathers. Now Wilbekin or Ogubueze now come in to give Boynton breathers, Dillion Graham and Rosario come in together to give Frazier and Prather a rest. I don't like the idea of Rosario at SF. Injury prone and small in stature. This ten man team will give other teams fits if we stay healthy. Devon Walker needing to add muscle and weight can still provide some size if anyone happens to get hurt or if he is a better match-up, comes in and shows us he ball.
I know Georgetown will bring it to the Gators, I hope we work them silly with this athletic wrecking crew.
Of course it is early and we are like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get. We also have taken on a tremendous early schedule. Here's hoping we get to the Final Four this year. Is this asking to much? With improvement from the regulars and these new teammates, anything is possible. Who going to be on the Bataan? I will be watching this great early game. Go Gators

Murphy and Wilbekin will be starting. The other starting spot (Beal's spot) is up in the air... It might be Frazier, Rosario, or Prather. Rosario will start off as the starter imo, but he'll be replaced by the better player in Frazier fairly quickly.

Gators Gators, you are right, billy will stay with the experience player. But I can dream. Frazier is a 2g and Prather is a sf. Boynton if he wants to be in the pros better get the pg position down. I wish we would play the players at their position that would get them a job and make this team stronger.
Scottie was cold the other night. Murphy looked out of sorts. Maybe think about a different line-up that could come out firing right from the start. Putting the best five on the floor could do wonders in the long run.

This is my biggest concern. Eric is critical if we are to run our typical high ball screen offense. Will was a total BEAST in the exhibition game, but there is no way that he can run our "bread and butter offense" with him at the 4. Who would even guard him at the 3 point line? He will be needed to spell PY in the post and should do well there, but him and PY in the game at the same time will be great on D, but the O will be "interesting" to say the least.
But who is the back-up for Eric when he needs to rest or sit because of fouls?
Do we change gears totally on O when he is out and go to a "throw up the first decent shot while we scramble around" offense? That was what I saw for a lot of the exhibition game. That works great if you have guys going 5 for 6 from 3. I don't see that happening every game.

So one cold shooting night, and we should take Murphy and Wilbekin out of the lineup? Don't overreact.

You did realize that Murphy's Grandmother died last week and he was flying back home on Friday for the funeral?

Prather and Rosario by committee, which is better than any single player having to play as many minutes and as many important roles as Beal was required to do. Frazier might earn some time there as well. We won't have the overall skill, but there will be athleticism, some size and much fresher legs. You gotta wonder how well Brad would have shot if he hadn't been on the floor so much.
