Physical Similarity: Doug Martin and Adam Lane
It occurred to me (since Brent Pease coached Martin and will coach Lane) after this years NFL draft that Doug Martin and Adam Lane seemed to have similar body types. After yesterday's Martin performance, I looked up Martin's HS size. He was listed as (2 star) 5' 11" 205, 4.45 40. The Bucs list him at 5' 9" 223. Adam Lane is listed as 5' 7" or 5' 9" 215 or 205, 4.40.
They do have similar body types and speed.

Martin actually ran a 4.75 (according to a rivals article, they list him at 4.5 which can't be right because he had no offers because he was too slow) and was closer to 188 coming out of high school. He obviously put on mass and managed to get quicker coming out of college.
We'll see how good lane is when he gets to college, he definitely has a similar physique to Martin though.

We don't know how fast Lane is. His best 40 time since his injury was above 4.7 on the same day and same surface that Derrick Henry ran a 4.5, but he's looked great on the football field this year with lots of long runs.

Martin ran a 4.55 40 at the combine...just an FYI. Not sure how fast Lane is. Lane will definitely improve under Dillman, however.

I have heard Lane compared to MJD, who is listed as 5'7" and 208 lbs.

Let's hope he's better than Martin, that'd be nuts

Lane’s physique and style of play is comparable to Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew. Lane is compact at 5’7", 207 pounds and uses his low center of gravity to get low on defenders and maintain balance.... he is going to be very hard to
bring down like trying to tackle a fire Hydrant

Might want to use a different analogy when we play the Mutts

Kids already a beast in the weight room. Dillman's going to like him.

I'm pretty sure that Lane is a legit burner.

He recorded (not sure where) 4.3 40 before he broke his leg. I have watched film on him and he looks very fast!
