Yeah it can. I think it's about standing for what you believe and say though. If as a coach, you believe and tell the team it will be based on practice then you have to stand up to that principle. I've never understood players that don't bring it in practice. Unless it is an injury issue...then isn't it about the 3 D's- desire, determination and dedication? I don't know.

I get that. However there are some kids that just shine under pressure of a game. There are some kids who just aren't great practice players.

There are also kids who presumedly practice well but wilt under game pressure. Werner would be a perfect example. Billy raved about his practice effort but that never translated to game success.

I played high school ball and have rarely missed a broadcast of Gator hoops since 1980. So I understand the game a little.

Obviously, I know Chaney wasn't going to play guard. But there were three inside roles to compete for. He didn't win any of them.

There was one spot for his natural pos , werners spot. He didn't win it but was a better player and showed it when he got the chance in games.

okay. I'm too busy watching election results to care much. But I do wish Alan Chaney all the best with his team and his future. It sounds like he's really turned it around.

tupacbiff, you never played organized sports, did you?

If Chaney didn't bring it in practice, it's 100% his fault he didn't play more. It's something that doesn't need to be explained.

On Chaney's health, good luck kido...
