Well, I'm very happy that he's doing well and I had no idea that he had endured such terrible medical conditions. Best wishes to him.
But I won't lie and say I liked him as a Gator all that much. The guy carried bad attitude all over the place. Not sure why he'd be anyone's favorite.

He was a 18 year old kid at the time... I was referring to his game, I couldn't care less about his 18 year old authority issues, I worry about the ones who don't have them at that age...

Let's see he was better and proved it then the guy ahead of him but billy wanted him to earn it more in practice. However when Werner returned he just stunk it up yet Cheney couldn't get minutes.
If I was 18 and clearly better then the guy ahead Of me I might have a questionable attitude also. Yet billy may have unknowingly saved his life.

What was so clear to you wasn't so clear to anyone else. Chaney didn't do much with the minutes he got. You don't reward guys for sulking.

I did not know of his attitude here. He did have one big game, but disappeared his Frosh year. Then he left and I heard about his attitude.
I have to admit his attitude showed through a couple of times in that article. So some of it at least seems to be there still.
Like jmac83, I hope for his sake that his heart with the defribulator can stand up to being a basketball player. I wish him well and I am glad he got the extra year to play in college.

I guess u don't understand basketball. No way Chaney was goin to play pg so the pg wasn't preventing him from getting min. It was Werner plain and simple. When Werner was hurt Chaney started.

All great points and stuff that would have made him a better player and teammate. However, there are just some kids who won't respond when they and everyone knows the guy getting their min is not as good as them. Chaney was just the better player in games. Maybe Werner practiced better, was a better teammate and worked harder but it didn't change the fact he was outplayed by Chaney.
Does that create team issues? I'm sure it's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation.
