Spreul and Leah, ahh yes, I recall those first exhibition game performances.
And, of course, you are correct Tupacbiff, you simply cannot project anything from exhibition games.
Billy D is like all coaches, if he has an experienced player of roughly equal quality to a freshman, he will prefer to play the experienced player more.
If Frazier, Ogbueze and perhaps Graham/Walker combine for a total of 25-30 minutes per game, that will really help this team substantially, due to the basic shortage of experienced players (7 is not many).
Anyone who expects Frazier to beat out Wilbekin as a starter is simply not very aware of what Billy D values. You absolutely cannot make such judgments based on exhibition game performances.

Actually no unless you want to claim that 6 points in 14 minutes is lighting someone up, here is the box score of the 11 January 1996 game:
http://www.rockchalk.com/games/g199613.sht
in which Spruel scored 6 points in 14 minutes. This is the only game Pierce played against UF.
Here is the box score of the 7 December 1994 game in which Spruel did not play:
http://www.rockchalk.com/games/g199504.sht
Memory is a funny thing. It turns out Paul Pierce did not play well against UF as a Frosh in 1996, but it is not clear that anyone on UF lit him up. I guess may be one could say Spruel and LeRon Williams out played Pierce who was a Frosh, I am sure a highly recruiting frosh, but not an All American yet.'
Of course the point of this thread still holds and I am sure we could find many example in UF history. This one just happened not to be quite what was remembered.

Matt Walsh broke out as a freshman early and had a solid season. It has been done, but we'll see.

A far cry from "lighting" Pierce up and Pierce as a frosh was a far cry from already being an All American.

Kendrick Spruel and Antrone Lee in the same thread.....I don't know what to do with myself.
All we need next is someone to bring out an Obiora Nnaji and the our work here is done!
Funny thing is that both those guys (Spruel and Lee) went on to have decent college careers.

He looks like a physical copy of Bradley Beal. Maybe he puts on 10 lbs and gets some time at the 3?

No question we've got more depth at the two and possibly three than we expected. Better still, a guy who will be ready to start sooner than we thought, but I don't see him playing a huge role this year, especially when we get into the SEC schedule. Let's just enjoy his play through the end of the non-conf schedule.

I did not watch every Monteverde game on ESPN last year, but Michael Frazier was about a 38% to 40% shooter from the arc from what I saw. That is a good shooter. He looked like knock down shoot in the exhibition. He probably will not be a 45% to 50% shooter from the arc in college, but I will be happy to be wrong.

Agreed. I'm *very* excited by what I saw the other day. Frazier can flat-out PLAY !!! Truly, all of the frosh looked good to me. And Dillon Graham??? Wow !!!

For all practical purposes, he was never heard from again. He eventually became the PK Yonge basketball coach. Against Biscayne, he was 10 for 10 from the field (a Gator record) and 8 for 8 from the line. David Lee later went 12 for 12 from the field against Northeasern, to break Leath's record.

As long as he shoots as well as Martti Kuisma, then I will be a happy camper.
