But in all seriousness, Reed has a ridiculous amount of potential. He is too raw right now to be a super high draft pick but will definitely get drafted because of his upside. He would really benefit by staying another year though IMO.

Wow, I am nominating this as the most ridiculous post of the year.

I know Jordan and unless things have changed since Spring, he plans on leaving after this season. Keep in mind his brother, David Reed, is an NFL player who has an agent. As others have said, he is a little raw, but a lot of NFL teams are interested and he would be drafted in the first 4 rounds on potential alone.

Vary unfortunate for us.
That leaves Westbrook, Burton, Burton( trey will sometimes line up at TE), Taylor and Thompson at TE. I have no idea who would start, or who is the best bet.... I hope we use some 2 TE sets tho bc that's some depth here

I assume Elam, Floyd, Easley (new Dad) and Reed will all jump (read or not).
We have recruited DLine depth in anticipation for them leaving, as we have three players redshirting this year (Williams, McCallister & Cox) and are bringing in three more for sure with Ivie, Riles & Brantley. So we will have the bodies, but anyone's guess at what the quality will be.
Elam will not be replaced as a playmaker or vocal leader, but we have very good SEC quality players in Saunders, Gorman, Showers and depth with Maye & Ledbetter (sp) plus the Freshman Washington & hopefully Harris.
Reed was never really a TE and it is my guess that Bruton could fill in his playmaker pass catching role. Matt Jones could also, as he is an underutilized pass catcher. Hopefully Taylor & Thompson develop more over the Spring & Summer.
Driskel's & the OLine development will be the most critical for the O success.

We NEED one of (preferably both) of Montravius Adams or Greg Gilmore. If we don't get one or both of those guys to go along with Brantley I will be very concerned about our talent on the defensive line in 2013. And imagine the trio of Adams, Gilmore, and Brantley a few years from now... good Lord.

It's Adams. With Floyd leaving, it opens up a spot for him to come in and play beast mode. Pretty BIG shoes for Adams to fill, but I am sure he sees what a dominate defense the Gators can be with that really spectacular DT up front.

Do you still think we land him? Heard his parents accompanied him on his visit to UGA

I believe we still have a very good chance.
Georgia fans and recruitment is running pretty high at the moment... but when Bama crushes them for the 2nd straight year in the SEC Championship game, they'll hit a snag. And at their expense, we'll get a better bowl game... So which team had a better season??
Also, the BBQ Banquet we're holding in December will be less than a week after the SEC Champ game. I know he is coming back for that, but I cannot remember if it was him or another recruit who said he was bringing his parents.
But I definitely wouldn't rule out Adams. Georgia is in the mix... but that's his home state. Clemson, I believe, was in the mix at some point as well, dunno if they still are. Can never rule out Bama, especially when it comes down to a great DT talent in the South.... But I think our chances are a lot better than others. Floyd leaving is such a large factor in this equation.
Also, I wouldn't hold out hope for Gilmore. I like him, would love to have him, but he has always been high on LSU. He was the only recruit who had something positive to say about LSU and how he felt about them... even after witnessing their loss in the stands.

So it doesn't sound all that good for Adams or Gilmore, but anything can and most of the time does happen.

But that's something he's been kicking around since before he visited UF. Clemson was the favorite at the beginning of the cycle to land him but the SEC teams have stayed with it.
The sky is not falling with Adams, yet.

I never said the sky was falling with Adams. Adams will probably make a decision at an allstar game plenty of time for everybody to get a word in I just like the fact we are in the race. Rumor is he has one of those "mentors" too so you never know where he will end up.

Oh for sure, not you... Just putting that out there for the average reader. There is still hope. And like you said, just to be in the race is awesome. Because really, out of all of his schools, we are the ones who showed up out of nowhere and jumped ahead of the competition. But watching the Gators beat LSU in The Swamp will have that affect.

He would mention Florida but nobody really believed him until he made a visit. Also who expected Auburn to suck so bad this year besides Gus.

Replace Elam, Bostic, and Floyd on defense will be difficult. Florida needs to recruit a few more DT's.
Other than that, it looks great.
