Problem is with an Israeli citizenship he is much more valuable to a euro team then an MBA team.

I think so. However he prob got an exemption or was overage already because I believe mandatory ends at 22. Not sure how it works with dual nationals either.

Doubt his dual citizenship affects his NBA chances as much as his talent does. FWIW, he'll be better off heading into the sunset as an Israeli citizen than as a US citizen, plus his long term professional potential is better in Israel.

No---IDF duty goes until 45. He probably has a sports exemption and will make up the time after career ends----but if he chooses to live in US he does not have to serve. Only if he lives in Israel.

Read my post. I never said it affects his nba chances. I said it affects his relative value to a euro team thus making him much more valuable than an American player. Therefore one could extrapolate that he will likely have a better financial career overseas as opposed to an nba bench warmer.

I'm fairly certain he plays the 5 for the Israeli national team and the 4 for his club team.

Alex is never, ever playing in the NBA...appreciate all he did as a Gator, but even while here he was so up and down...shame really, as he could have been a much better player if he would have bought in to BD and the team more....oh well, super glad he is doing well and making a good living overseas

You might be right but it won't be because he does not have the ability. He wouldn't be the first player capable of playing in the NBA that never gets a chance and won't be the last. There are only so many spots. There are also spots reserved for players like Luke Walton who average 4pts and 2rebs a game for a 9 year career and make 6 Million a year.

But he played for Duke and everybody knows that if you have a former Dukie on your roster your chances of an NBA ring are greatly diminished.

And if you have a black friend (assuming that "you" are white and clueless), ask them what "dukie" means to them.
