How often do the major services update their rankings?

I see Adam lane moving up to a high 4 star, people really doubted his knee injury but he's out there winning games and dominating defenses.

If we get Ramsey and a couple of other good recruits ( I see ramsey, 1 OL, 1 DL, 1WR) I think we could be looking at #2 or #1

It doesn't matter what our final number is IMO because we have exactly what we need at most positions, and some of it doesn't even count... The transfers of Max Garcia and Tyler Moore and hopefully the acquisition of Trenton Brown will have limited effects on our final recruiting class number; but will definitely make our incoming class have more impact than any other class out there, including USC. Those are proven Div 1 impact players for 2-3 yrs.

Completely agree. These services are so accurate that I just wanted to know where we rank in reality....

But stronger recruiting classes help somewhat in preseason polls, which in turn helps with getting to a BCS bowl... ( irrelevant in UF's case because we play in the SEC but I'd love to take that away from USC and MIchigan. Oh and ultimate bragging rights with all my sec buds

What really matters is that WM gets the players he thinks will fit our program and have the ability to succeed. Lots of good teams have relatively low recruiting rankings but still play big.

This will be a great class, but nobody will beat USC in this arcane statistical competition. We would have to get Tunsil, Adams and Treadwell, along with flipping Ramsey. Let's get the guys we need and win the other national championship.

Depends on what you mean by "big." If you mean "national title" big, then I would disagree. With the possible exception of Alabama, about every national champion since 2000 Oklahoma has a top-ranked recruiting class on its roster and several top-five to top-ten classes in addition. If you mean "competitive in the East" big, then sure.

I agree that you don't judge a team simply by its recruiting and that in a single game situation recruiting rankings don't matter a lick, but on the whole higher recruiting rankings reflect a higher volume of athletic, sought after prospects which in turn leads to deeper rosters with more room for evaluation errors.

I think it's about time that recruiting services list and acknowledge these other incoming players like the transfers and JC players.

They do JUCO and prep school rankings later in the year and those rankings will affect team rankings. They do not do rankings for players who transfer from one college to another. Don't think there's any need for that. The value of recruiting rankings is dubious enough.
