Spot on. Now if everyone just learned that then this would be a much better place.

For some reason, not much from the west end fans. East fans get into it.

Tupac, "cheer sheets" were being handed out at the O'Dome way back in 1980 when I was a student. Duke's student fans didn't get recognition as a group until at least the mid-80's. So, UF doesn't look like the copycat to me...

I'm for ANYTHING to improve the overall atmosphere of the games. What we need to do next is find a way to fill the top section - boys and girls clubs, family discounts - whatever it takes to get the Donovan Dome bumpin

I don't get the negative nellies on here. Some young person(s) is spending considerable time and effort to rally support for our basketball team among his/her fellow students. Why can't the rest of us just support their efforts instead of ripping into what methods some of us ASSume they are going to use? Seems counterproductive to me. If you've got a suggestion on how they should go about it then go to their facebook page and share it with them. I'm sure they'd welcome the input. Otherwise, STFU.

The only thing I hate is the idiotic "fantastic" chant. I have a few kidney punches lined up for whoever came up with that garbage.

Mr. Edwards had his SAT scores revoked by ETS and suffered freshman year eligibility consequences. You can fill in the blanks on this. I happened to remind him of this transgression in a voice that I am sure that he heard because of where I sit when he went to the line for a FT.
Mr. Edwards was a great hoopster and a very good FT shooter, but he badly clanged his first attempt. After that the whole section started chanting "SAT ... SAT ... SAT" on subsequent FT's.
The Alligator thought that I was dissing him just because he didn't get the SAT score. That was not true. Calling somebody dumb would be uncalled for even though he went to FSU. I was dissing him because he was caught cheating. That is totally different.

I don't get you. I haven't read anything put out by these guys that says they want to be like Duke or mimic Duke or pass out cheer sheets. What if their goal is to be more like the Rowdy Reptiles from 10 years ago? You gonna piss all over that as well? These are just young kids trying to make a difference for their school and the team they love. If you have some great ideas about how they could best support the team that is unique then by all means share it with them (and us). If not then you are just a grumpy old man (attitude wise) that likes to run down the efforts of others to make yourself feel superior. SAD.
And what did Duke ever do to you that has filled you with such venom? Let it go man. It's eating you alive!

They're still down because they lost Moose to the East end. Moose is the key to a good free throw defense.

personally, i love the 'fantastic' cheer. i even say it at home on the couch watching games.
more rowdy the better. to be coordinated in cheers could be a good thing too. but most gator fans are very much into making noise whether it be in the swamp or donovan dome. coordinated stuff might be fun, though, and perhaps effective in basketball. get into the heads of the opposition = good result.

I liked having Moose better on the West end. He was there to help close out the games

Other way around; he used to be on duty for 1H free throw defense. Now we've got him for 2H free throw defense!
