Curiosity - How do the Frosh Look
Just curious, we heard some early reports that Frazier was impressing everyone, but does anyone have any info on:
1 - How did the new frosh appear on the court, and
2 - How do they appear to be doing in the classroom.
Both, are, of course, vital for any school except, of course, Kentucky, where they leave for the NBA after one year anyway.

They must be doing alright I think in this case that silence goes a long way, its one of those instances where you know if something was wrong or there was problems in this day and age it would be all over ESPN, Titter, or some form of social media.
Side-note I don't really understand the jab at Kentucky your leaving it open for controversy, was your intent of this post the FROSH or to spark a debate? it just seems unnecessary.

Note, I wasn't taking a jab at Kentucky, but at Cali, who appears to be proud when his recruits are one and done.
And,of course, the classroom is important even for those who leave, at least the summer and fall semesters. Once they get to spring, if they plan on going NBA, unless the coaches keep up with it, although they must be enrolled for 12 hours, they really don't have to attend any classes to retain eligibility until their exit to MoneyVille.

I agree about the Kentucky jab (surprise surprise). Seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the proposed topic. Also, it strikes me that if one was going to make a jab about players going to classes, UNC might be the most appropriate target. I dont' know. Maybe thats just me though. I guess, while I'm nit-picking, I'll also point out that your theory on not having to stick out the spring semester doesn't account for the APR hit the school would take. They'd end up like UCONN this year.
I may as well address the intended topic while I'm posting. I have no idea how the freshmen are doing.

Actually one and dones staying in good standing and passing their courses is important even at UK. Otherwise, they could end up like UConn, ie ineligible for the post season. Give Calipari due credit for convincing guys like Wall to finish their class so UK's APR is over the threshold.

Well, if the classes are like the ones at North Carolina, APR's will remain very high. LOL

Can someone tell me who the UF freshmen are and what they are going to bring to the table?

PG Braxton Ogbueze, 6'1" 185, very quick, great handle, nice range. The most likely playmaker in this class. Consensus top 100. Can play both guard positions, could compete for the starting PG spot.
SG Michael Frazier, 6'4" 180, smooth stroke, great outside, can penetrate some, but more of a perimeter player. Consensus top 100, possible backup at two and three.
SG Dillon Graham, 6'4" 175, a lot like Frazier, but possibly a better outside shot. High IQ, three star, likely four year player. Could redshirt this year.
SF Devon Walker, 6'6", 187, athletic, well rounded SF, three star, likely four year player. Could possibly redshirt this year.
We got the first two early on. UF was after a lot of big men and ended up getting shut out. Graham committed fairly late in the game and it was thought he might actually be a walk-on. Walker committed very late after our top targets had committed to other schools. Our recruiting success this year is based almost entirely on transfers.

Braxton Ogbueze: PG/SG about 6'1" from NC who was RSCI ranked 54.
Michael Frazier: SG about 6'4" from the Tampa area. Big scorer through his JR year and then transferred to Monteverde and scored a bit less. I think some said he had the best stroke at the the NBAPA Top 100 camps or some similar camp.
Dillon Graham: SG about 6'4" from the Orlando area. His recruiting blew up in AAU ball last summer. He was hoping for a UCF offer and then schools like KU and UL started offering. He is from a Gator family and when UF offered last summer he accepted fairly quickly.
DeVon Walker: SF about 6'6" from the Lakeland. Played PG for his high school when their PG had some troubles. He statistically ranked about 123 out of 264 of the Nike AAU circuit last summer.
With both Boynton and Rosario back we will probably see little of Frazier and Graham this season. D. Walker and Ogbueze have a better shot shot at playing time as their positions are open and only one experience player is in their spots.

I have had hoops players in classes at UF, but not that many, because I am in the College of Engineering. I have one now and previously I taught Svein "The Norwegian Collegian".
Trust me that my courses are not gift grades.
There are thousands of engineering students that will verify that getting a passing grade from me is hard work.
