Some of you know that I'm now living in Mexico City, and recently I began having a real problem accessing GC that was driving me crazy. Yahoo is my home page, and I use Internet Explorer as my browser. And, of course, I have GC in my "Favorites" list. Several weeks ago, my troubles began. Every time I clicked on "Gator Country", the GC title header would come up, but below the header was nothing but a blank page. I began to have increasingly worse anxiety, because now the football season is just around the corner.
I tried a variety of different solutions,to deal with the problem, but nothing really helped much. I tried going to the GC web address without clicking on the "Favorites" list, and the GC home page came up on occasion; but when I would try to click on a Forum or one of the lead stories, I got the blank page again. I tried deleting the cookies and refreshing the browser without success. I tried clicking on "Contact Us", and the contact page occasionally came up. From there I was able to access the home page, but again whenever I tried to read a lead story or go to a forum, I got the blank page again.
Finally I contacted GC through my regular e-mail at
folks@gatorcountry.com. One can also use
customerservice@gatorcountry.com (Write these down in case you lose GC) and let out a primal scream for help. I received a responsive e-mail from Ms. Bernadette Carter-King, who initially suggested that I try the cleaning the cookies route. No help, and I e-mailed her with the negative results. She then responded that Internet Explorer has long been an enemy of GC, and suggested that I try accessing GC through Google Chrome, and I finally was successful. I felt a little stupid for not trying this myself, but, as I told her, as a computer savvy guy, I was a hell of a former trial lawyer.
And not only did she help me, but when I told her that I felt as if I was in a "Catch-22" situation and that I was afraid that at any moment "they" were going to "disappear" me, she knew the book and the reference. It's nice to know that someone at GC is semi-literate.........

JUST KIDDING, GUYS AND GALS!
Thanks again for the prompt assistance.
