Does this sound right?

Can you give us a general Top 10 board of who the staff wants most at this point in the recruiting process? — Lighty

This board could and likley will change over the next few months, but here are the Top 10 targets I think Florida has. This list consists of the highest-rated recruits at positions of need that have shown the interest in the Gators.

1. OT Laremy Tunsil
2. S Marcell Harris
3. DE DeMarcus Walker
4. CB Jalen Ramsey (USC commit)
5. WR Laquon Treadwell
6. CB Mackensie Alexander
7. WR Alvin Bailey
8. DE Ebenezer Ogundeko
9. OT Kenny Lacey
10. CB Shaq Wiggins (UGA commit)

I think he has to put Tunsil up there.... we all should, he is the most coveted prospect left, rankings-wise. But I just don't see Tunsil coming here. I'm sure we'll continue to recruit up to NSD, though.

I also don't agree with Treadwell or Alexander being on his list..... And how are they ranked higher than Ogundeko, Bailey and Lacy???

To me, Treadwell's name is being tossed around.... but that's if Bailey doesn't come here. And now with a committable offer and Matt Jones calling him on the reg.... I can definitely see Bailey committing here.

Alexander... I don't think we have a chance really.... Do we have to take his brother?? (Mackenro decommitted from FSU weeks ago). We have too much going on to bring Alexander in, imho. Jalen Ramsey is a smarter pick-up.... If we didn't get VH3, then maybe Alexander would be that guy we all want... Well, not maybe, he would be. But we have VH3... And really, I don't see Alexander going anywhere other than a place where he would be a day 1 starter... and they'd have to be willing to give up another scholly for his brother. A few schools come to mind, a couple in the SEC and a few who are not.

There isn't much left out there for us, but in a very good way. I can't even think of 2 people to replace the 2 guys on Zach's list. Maybe Alex Anzalone as a sleeper? Maybe another unnamed LB? I really don't know. I am sure that more names will surface when the HS season starts. I just don't think that adding a couple of names to a top 10 list for the sake of having a top 10 list is very informative. And I also can't get over how 7-9 aren't ranked higher up on the list.

Also, I thought we were out of it for Ogundeko when Sherit committed, but I guess a little insurance for the DL in case we don't get Walker is nice. But I think that even if we did get Walker, we will still try to pull Ogundeko... Give this kid the 4th LB spot and plop him on the DL. He is a Beast.

1. Tunsil
Of course. Just because UGA leads doesn't make him any less than our top remaining prospect.

2. Harris
He's certainly high up there, but when you've bagged as many high caliber DBs as we have, getting the fourth or fifth one in place doesn't seem so important. Then again, he's a legacy, he's got a great frame and he's one of the best left on the board.

3. Walker
We've got how many DEs now? Never mind. He's one of the best players at any position left on the board and I think he ends up at DT.

4. Ramsey
Sure, or someone else just as good.

5. Treadwell
Great prospect with no remote interest in UF. Let's put another WR in this spot, like maybe Foster, whose had UF on his list for months.

6. Alexander
Don't think it would happen, but if it does, he's the guy just as good as Ramsey

7. Bailey
Not sure he's the next best WR on the board, but the coaches seem to like him and have invested a lot of time in building a relationship.

8. Ogundeko
Liked this kid from the beginning, but we are loaded at DE now. Let's keep him on a tight leash in case one of our DEs fails to do something the coaches are expecting him do to. I like NYC kids.

9. Lacey
Nice upgrade from Rod Johnson. Do we have a decent shot?

10. Wiggins
Love to see us keep things going at Sandy Creek HS, but I don't know if this list needs three CBs when we still have needs at DT, OLB, TE and Safety.

Other prospects I would have included;
McQuay, Griffin, Coley (pipe dream, I know)

Not many LBs left. No TEs left. Good thing we're almost full. The board is almost empty.

Gilmore- likes LSU a lot they lead his family does like Florida he will take a official here
Walker - it is 50/50 with Alabama
Ogundeko- Coaches are still pursing him
Bostwick-Florida will continue to recruit
Kieth Bryant- Miami commit could also be an option

We might look to JUCO for another DT

Deneson- we are not going to flip him unless we lose another OL he is an inside guy and we already have 3

WR
Bailey- might not be a lock I still need to write about the Bailey situation will do that this weekend
Treadwell- we might not even get a visit
MarQuez North- Florida will continue to recruit
Demarcus Robinson- Florida will continue to recruit

S
Harris- is the only safety on the baord it is between us and Texas and by no means is he a lock for us

Tahaan Goodman- from Cali has mentioned wanting to visit you never know the coaches might say ok if we miss on Harris


CB- Ramsey- has talked to the coaches and got his offer but thats it. He is teamates with Max and his family has Gator fans so that should help but right now he is committed to USC

Alexander- is looking at a lot of schools dont be shocked if he picks Clemson or South Carolina but I believe we are still in it

Shaq Wiggins (UGA commit) will officail vist here right now he is 100 percent Georgia. But if Tray Mathews flips to Auburn then I think there is a real shot at flipping Shaq

Gators also like a few Cal commits form Georgia at the CB position.

Kenny Lacey form Arizona might visit
Tunsil - we wont give up to the end but I wont get my hopes up
Tyre Moore- the Nebraska transfer would be the biggest get. I would take him over Tunsil Moore is proven and we have seen 5 star OL bust before

JUCO's and later bloomers will pop up on the board as well

TE- coaches still want one in this class they will still pursue the JUCO Sandland
they will also monitor players like Shaquille Johnson

When did Auburn get in the mix? They are stock piling talent on the defensive front 4 and middle linebacker position. They are leadin for Montravious Adams, they have Dee Liner, and Carl Lawson at the weak side, and Tashon Bower looks great at SSDE. Reuben Foster and Trey Johnson are two of the best middle linebacker prospects. Do they need another DT/SSDE in Demarcus Walker seeing as they are already stacked in the front 5?
I don't want to play auburn in a couple of years until the SEC championship for sure.

Good, that's what I heard, too. And I'm sorry, Dee Liner is also strong side, so D Walker would make 3 SSDE... That would be silly considering they need some DBs, O like and WRs

Dee Liner has some life problems right now and competition is not going to scare Walker away

My personal top 10 for the Gators would look like this. We are on the outside looking in for a lot of these prospects, but these are still who I would prefer.

1. Laremy Tunsil- Really needs no explanation. Best OT in the country and is right in our backyard.

2. Elijah Daniel- I read that we are still recruiting him and he was very close to Bryant Young early in the process. We need a Buck as Fowler may be outgrowing the position soon and there is little depth there after that. Very important position for this defense and Daniel has always been my number 1 at that spot outside of perhaps Carl Lawson who we aren't getting.

3. Demarcus Walker- Would be a huge get in terms of momentum for this class and in terms of building depth at DE. Would help to further re-establish ourselves in Jacksonville and would give Muschamp a recruiting win over Saban.

4. Marcell Harris- In-state legacy who has always been one of the top players on our board. He would really help solidify a very important position (Strong or Right Safety) for the foreseeable future.

5. Marquez North- He says Florida and Carolina (Not sure if UNC or USCe) are recruiting him the hardest and he is still undecided on where he will be visiting. Seems very open and I really hope we can be a factor in his recruitment. We desperately need WRs and he is the freakiest in this class from an athletic standpoint IMO.

6. Demarcus Robinson- Like Daniel, we are still recruiting him and we were I believe his leader early in the process. If a few WRs can have a good season this year on the field and we do well in general, perhaps we can at least give him something to think about. We need WRs.

7. Mackensie Alexander- Can't believe I have him at #7 as he may be the more talented than anyone else on this list. A VH3 and Mackensie Alexander pair of CBs would do wonders for this or any defense. I hope we can smooth over and VH3/MA tension (Like we did with Howard/Poole last year) and make a run at him. We are very much in with Alexander I believe.

8. Keith Bryant- My personal top DT left on the board and it seems that we have a pretty decent chance to flip him from what I understand.

9. Alex Anzalone- I still think another LB wouldn't be a bad idea in this class. We only have 3 and haven't had a ton of luck there the previous two years. He attended FNL and have heard rumblings that we are still in it for him despite committing to two schools already.

10. Beau Sandland- Absolute beast of a TE which is more of an issue now with Leonard gone. JUCO though and it is entirely possible we only get one year if we were to land him.

Just my personal opinion.

1. North- we need a big play WR so bad and that kid has it. Right now we have no consistent game breakers on the team or committed. (I would take Robinson or Treadwell here as well but our best shot is with North and he is probably the best out of the group)

2. Walker/ Gilmore- just give me one of the two

3. Alexander/ Ramsey Wiggins- 1 of the 3 dont care which

Tyler Moore (transfer), or another big ugly with talent Tunsil, Lacy, Denson, Fennel, etc. I don't think it matters if they are a guard or tackle just as long as we get talent and depth along the line. Heck I'll even take another sleeper like Octavius Jackson as long as he had good upside. In two seasons, we will lose the majority of our o line
