Sometimes things happen for a reason ...
Yesterday, my wife and I were sawing limbs off a tree. The garbage company won't take them longer than 4', so while my wife was sawing them shorter, I was hefting 6 to 8' limbs and slamming them to the concrete, hoping to break them that way. Well, one of them careened up and tagged me in the ribs and elbow.
My first thought was, "Damn! That hurts!", the second, "Damn! there go the workouts!"
Then it occurred to that since my right elbow needed the rest, and because my left side could use a little extra work, that my accident might have been fortuitous.
With the ribs, vertical pulling is out. But pullups were probably the chief cause of my elbow pain. One-armed pushups probably only served to exacerbate the pain.
At the same time, this will afford the opportunity to practice one-armed pushups with the left arm. That's my weak link. I can bust them out on the right side, but it's all grinders with the left.
Point is, I can't remember being so excited about an injury.
