Brilliant. Using the iPad as a terminal and the desktop machine as the server. I haven't actually seen it in use, but I've been using remote desktop access for years to avoid having to keep double copies of software, just load it once on the work computer and then remotely connect from home. If this works anywhere near as well, I will need to buy an iPad

yes. same as gotomypc. I use logmein. I haven't used gotpmypc, but hear it is fine.

I use iTap app for my ipad to access my work computer.

I've been using logmein for years both for accessing family's PC's nod now for iPad access
