Default Super Size Me

I'm watching this movie on Hulu. How in the hell did this guy live on nothing by Mickey D's for a whole month? Hard to believe a real healthy guy went to sick as a dog in just 30 days. But, if I ate nothing but big macs more than 3 days in a row I'd probably want to kill myself

Ha, that movie was disgusting. Their fries are still the best though.

Maybe you should watch Super High Me next.

Its an interesting movie to be sure but a bit flawed. After the movie came out a few people went on a "McDonalds diet" and lost weight. The point being yeah if you eat McDonalds every day and get a Supersized meal you are going to gain weight and be terribly unhealthy. That being said if you go to McDonalds and make choices to eat a normal amount of calories it is a fine place. It is all about moderation much like anything else. Basically heck yeah a Big Mac, Large Coke, and Large fries is going to make you fat but if you go and grab a Double cheeseburger and a water you aren't going to be breaking the calorie bank.

Baka, good point. I actually have a buddy who has a really fast metabolism so when he is trying to gain weight one of his staples is double cheeseburgers. For the calories and protein he gets its a pretty cheap option.

I agree. It's all about moderation and good choices. You could go to Subway every meal for a month and end up just as unhealthy. No one wants to take responsibility for themselves anymore

McDonalds is one of the few restaurants a poor man can get full. Anyone with any common sense knows McDonalds food is fattening. If McDonalds went out of business tomorrow, their obese clientel would be forced to go foodshopping more often, but they would still load up on garbage. Nothing wrong with McDonalds.

Exactly...He got everything super sized and he ate it ALL. If you eat that much of anything, you will gain weight.

Incorrect. He had to eat everything on the menu at least once and could only "Super Size" if they asked him, which I believe was only something like 5 or 6 times. They just showed every time that they asked him.

I really enjoyed it, but several scenes are just disturbing: notably the scenes with kids in the lunch room ("I bet they're going to share those fries with their friends" and "I bet they brought their lunch...he's not going to have *just* a coke"). Also, Spulock eating the Supersized Meal and puking 20 minutes later was the best anti-fast food propoganda (in a good way) ever. I'm sure that scene alone is what made McDonald's get rid of Super-Size just a few months after filming.

If I powered down an entire super-sized McDonald's "meal", 32 oz sugar water and all, I'd be yakking too.

You are picking nits with the Super Size thing. Spurlock averaged 5000 calories a day during his experiment. With the little bit of activity he was doing that caloric intake on ANY food is going to make you unhealthy.

Nobody is arguing that if you eat the way he did at McDonalds 3x a day you are going to gain large amounts of weight. I will argue with you that his movie is skewed because it is, after all, entertainment. A second movie was released called Bowling For Morgan and the filmmaker lost 20 lbs and his cholesterol fell sharply by eating solely at McDonalds. Another man on LiquidCalories.com documented his "McDonalds diet" eating solely McDonalds and losing about 14 lbs. His caloric intake was about 2500 a day. There are tons more examples.

Spurlock has been outed as a smoker and an avid 420er. So you can smoke and make movie about how a conglomerate is deliberately killing people. Yea I get it.... Also some website had the maker of all those Truth commercials against the tobacco companies SMOKING. Do as I say...
