As intense as he always seems, Izzo is a pretty funny guy.

That's a hallmark of great coaching. Izzo, Donovan, Meyer, Spurrier...those guys will tell you the brutal truth. No "this is correctable" fuzziness.

What will really be interesting is if MSU beats UNC in Chapel Hill.

Of course, Billy D could have replied: "You can't win when you only shoot 20% on 3-points, and 40% overall from the field and get outrebounded 36-20.

The only reason the game was even close was that the Gators couldn't hit the Broad Side of a barn door, except at the free throw line.

I credit MSU's defense for the poor shooting. They did not allow many looks from 3 that were good, and their bigs were well trained as always in crashing the boards and getting second chance opportunities.

Give credit to Florida - they stuck to their offensive sets for the most part, didn't get rattled, and managed to draw enough fouls to keep putting points on the board when MSU wasn't allowing good shots.

Our guys got a taste of what really physical rebounding is like, and that's going to help us a lot. To get a win in a game like that is a great thing.

If we continue to force teams into mistake after mistake and can improve our rebounding and perimeter shooting, we'll be really hard to beat.

Kind of ironic that we won back to back titles and for how great that team was they weren't anything to write home about at the charity stripe.

True, but in each March, our free throw percentage improved. I guess the guys' concentration went to another level. Corey Brewer's field goal percentage climbed way up each March. It's like he suddenly couldn't miss.

Agreed, but it is interesting that we out rebounded the "tallest team in the country" the game before.
