Great American Teach-In-Help with?
I know a lot of people have kids on these boards so I figured I would ask this question here. My five year old son has the Great American Teach-In next week. For those of you who don't know what it is basically parents come in and talk about their profession. I have been asked by my son's teacher to talk about being a lawyer. Yeah, I know really exciting for 5 and 6 year olds.
To make matters worse I am a tax and transactional attorney who handles things like mergers/acquisitions, estate planning (i.e. wills and trusts) and contracts.
I have been throwing around using a lemonade stand example in my head where I explain how if you have a lemonade stand and either want to sell it or have a customer how a lawyer might be used. I can obviously talk about the schooling involved in becoming a lawyer. I am just hoping to find something that is fun and exciting for the kids. I don't want them to be bored out of their minds.
Anyone who has any ideas, please let me know. BTW, if they were older I would definitely go the route of lawyer jokes because it loosens up the crowd quite well, but in this case not so much.
