Seems to be a few guitar players on here, so I thought I'd share this. Even non guitar players will probably enjoy taking a look at this, especially if you remember Eddie Van Halen's "signature" paint job on his guitars. I couldn’t have pulled off the paint job, but luckily I know someone who has the skill and knowledge (doesn’t hurt that he too likes Van Halen and the Gators).
This guitar was a 1991 Ibanez 540-R. I bought a new neck with the "banana" headstock like Eddie had on his guitars back in the 1984 and 5150 days (these were the songs that first inspired me to learn guitar). This paint job was modeled after the one that Eddie had taped/painted "5150" behind the bridge. The decals on the headstock were put into the layers of clear coat. My friend that painted it really knows his stuff. Another cool detail is the serial number I lasermarked into the original neck plate.
If anyone's interested I'll go into more detail on the components, etc.
