Default Question About South Carolina

The Mrs. and I are headed up to SC this weekend and haven't gotten our hotel yet. We've never been and it seems that the stadium is kind of in the middle of nowhere. Priceline says the nearest hotel is 1.5 miles away...closer to campus. So, I want to know whether or not it's worth it to get a hotel near campus or should I just get one near the interstate?

The other alternative would be to stop in Savannah (we're coming from Florida) and home-base from Savannah...going up and back from there on Saturday.

Any comments, slurs, or innuendos would be appreciated.

...since you're "with the Mrs." my connection in Columbia wouldn't go over that well.

esposito,
home base in Charleston.
It's I-26 all the way. You could even get some awesome ribs or seafood in Charleston to take to your tailgate.

I suggest you look at motels at the intersection of I-20 and I-77. Take I-77 to Bluff Rd, turn right and you are very near the stadium. As in Gainesville the closer to the stadium the higher the parking. Most important. Try to get your parking location early. No later than 12:30. Suggest you buy prepared food before leaving for the game. Tailgate where you park.

Or the Alums are having a tail gate at Seawalls. Somewhat near the stadium. We are planning on attending and perhaps walk to the stadium. Probably 3/4 mile. Traffic is horrible after the game. Stick around the stadium after the game for a least an hour. The band will be playing a lot going on. By that time you can easily back to your motel.
