They're saying it'll run up to LA/the panhandle and then pull a U-turn (maybe just a strong right). Rain and some wind but not bad. Just don't want it to mess up my Gator game in SC next Saturday.

The game is safe it looks like, but they do have it as a hurricane at landfall now, though probably a week one.

From the NWS this morning (Monday). I appears the shear winds are going to dismantle it before landfall. It should bring lots of rainfall.

THE SHEAR OVER IDA IS CURRENTLY ANALYZED AT MORE THAN 30 KT BY
UW-CIMSS...AND IS FORECAST TO INCREASE MARKEDLY OVER THE NEXT 24
HOURS. THIS...IN COMBINATION WITH COOLER WATERS ALONG THE TRACK OF
IDA OVER THE NORTHERN GULF SHOULD RESULT IN A CONTINUED WEAKENING
TREND. THE OFFICIAL INTENSITY FORECAST HAS BEEN ADJUSTED DOWNWARD
...AND IS CLOSE TO OR A LITTLE ABOVE THE ICON CONSENSUS THROUGH 36

Does the panhandle need rain? I know North Georgia had floods earlier this summer.

No..we don't. Here in Pensacola, I heard earlier this morning we are 2 inches above normal for the year--ABOVE normal! Kinda rare these days to hear that.

Anyway, here is a pretty cool couple of links of storm chasers live streaming as they ride around in their cars over in Gulf Shores, AL and Perdido Key area just west of Pcola. Kinda fun to watch their cams as they drive like maniacs.

The Suwannee and Santa Fe both flooded badly in the SPring. Things are just getting back to normal along the Santa Fe where I live.
