What shocked me is that, apparently, the coaches feel H & H are good blockers. I always assumed their inability to block was keeping them off the field. Given James and Nelson's utter (prior to last week) lack of productivity, I cannot figure out why the underclassmen haven't seen the field more.

Also, the formation they come in for has everyone bunched in and seems to get stuffed frequently. If we are going to blast Tebow up the middle, it seems like we have had more success in the past spreading out receivers, thus forcing the safetiies, etc., to split out resulting in less defenders in the box.

I definitely think you're right for the most part. However, Hammond was on the field for the pass to Hernandez that went for sixty yards or whatever. I'm not sure, though, if Hines was in, too. It's also possible that they are using them exclusively (or almost exclusively) on running plays to set up a play against other opponents. It's impossible to know what the coaches are thinking/planning.

Predictability lowers how successful a play is but that doesn't mean it can't be successful. We have tons of talent and we could tell the D our play and we will be successful. However if the D had no idea what the play was then we'd probably average a couple yards more.
