Well, if the goal was to convince more and more people to oppose growth in government, then the tea parties "worked". Just look at the polls on the favorability of the tea partiers. It's about 60% in favor and 30% opposed, much higher than that of the Republican party (I'm speaking to you, DC apparatchiks). If the goal was to physically stop the government from usurping power it has no right to take, a peaceful protest can't do that. I hope it never comes to something like that; I hope the current government officials are defeated in the elections and give up power peacefully...

The real question should be "How much longer do we let Goldman Sachs and thier band of cronies whom run our government and dictate our economy and whom reaps the rewards of all their frauds including the biggest gangster crook of all time, Hank "Stuttering when under questioning" Paulson?

Big finance basically runs the country--the billions in wealth transferred to this group by paid off politicians is beyond comprehension.

Lol the title of this post has some implicit meanings in it.

When do we sit down and shut down DC?

To me this implies the OP has no intention of doing anything.

Granted many good and meaningful actions begin by sitting down, the real question should be when do we stand up and do something.

This seems to point more to the real issue imo. When will the populace stand up and actually start voting.

Voting is a farce. The new boss will be the same as the old boss. People have stood up and let themselves be heard for more than a year now and nobody can hear us over the money machine that funds D.C. Sitting down is all about shutting down that money machine and starving the beast.
