Default Tailgating/TV

Yesterday was my very first time tailgating at a Gator game and it was GREAT...but I saw a lot of people tailgating and watching tv with dish...is that a special kind of dish and how would i go about setting that up (what is all needed to operate everything)? rough estimate for cost? any help would be great! Thanks and Go Gators!

do you currently have Directv or Dish Network?

If so, you'll need a power source, a TV, an extra dish, the skills to aim the dish relatively quickly, and then disconnect a receiver and take it with you.

If you don't already have a subscription, then you'll also need that.

are you currently a Dish Network or DirecTV customer? IF so, they won't tell you this, but just get an extra dish and tripod on eBay (roughly $75 to $100), use one of your current satellite receivers, a TV, some way to power everything (generator or a couple deep cell batteries with AC inverters). A satellite finder is handy, but not necessary.

I've set-up my extra dish many times each year while "camping", tailgating, going to the hunting cabin, etc.... or just to watch night games, races, etc outdoors on a HUGE 14' screen (using a projector hooked to the receiver).

I think alot of people have the little Honda 2000 portable generator for power their power source. Be prepared for a little sticker shock when you look at those things though.

I get 8 hours off of one fully charged 12V deep cycle marine battery (cost around $100.00).

Hi Jason, guess you were really serious about this....great...that means Ally can go to the the game and if we don't have an extra ticket she will have someone to watch the game.
