Our run blocking is very good. It's our pass blocking, particularly off the ends that needs work.

Nope....its not just the OL. They are great run blockers who do not pass block well enough to give TT lots of time. Tim also adds to the problem because he doesn't make quick decisions this year. I don't know why that is. Play calling against Vandy went right back to the same old crap we saw prior to the UGA game. Thanks to the defense for continuing to play lights out!

tebow has all day to throw. he is running for his life because he takes too long to get rid of the ball. he also tends to panic and take off running when he's not really being pressured.

hevesy had been with Meyer since Bowling Green and knew the run and pass blocking schemes better than anyone. it's very rare that you have the head offensive line coach and as your offensive coordinator. addazio is just not getting it done wearing both hats. he failed miserably at indiana the last time he tried this.

in past few years addazio and hevesy split the duties as offensive line coaches. this year addazio is doing it solo in addition to being the OC.

yes we are undefeated and i am not complaining. just making an observation about why our offensive and offensive line has been struggling. i don't think anyone can argue that they aren't struggling against inferior competition.

I was ready to agree with you when I first read this thread and then I watched the tape today, and as much as this may not set well with my fellow Gators, the main problem with the pressure Tebow is getting... is Tebow himself.

Tim is holding onto the ball way too long and allowing pressure to get to him and then takes the sack. The sack is fine as long as he isn't throwing a pick, and we haven;t had a TO in the last two games.

If you'll watch Tim's completions, almost every one was a 2, maybe 3 second hold and throw. It was clean, decisive, and accurate. When Tim holds onto the ball longer than 3 seconds, it usually results in a sack. If you watch Brantley in his 2 or 3 throws, it was hold and throw in about 2 seconds. Nobody got near him.

This can be corrected IMO, and is better get corrected before USC and Bama who have two very good pass rushes.

That, and we need to use our RB's more and utilize the underneath passing game more.

I think the Gators must have Tebow roll out a lot more. If Tim's in motion, it will give her more time to find a receiver, take off and run or throw it out of bounds. Also, the Gators need to stop with the empty backfield. The few times they used a fullback (like the end of the 2005 season), Tebow had much more protection.

Either way I'm really happy to be undefeated.

Though these two actions seem to be contradictory, I'm seeing both happen frequently. It's frustrating and I keep thinking it's a slump and he'll eventually pull out of it.

But the biggest problem? Right now it looks like our play book is one page long. Seriously, the same old same old. The defenses have had thier jobs greatly simplified. Instead of being on their heels wondering where we're going next, THEY KNOW! And usually it means go after Tebow. Honestly, is there any good reason to have Tim run it up the middle on first down? At this point he ought to be running it maybe 5-7 choice times a game.

The plays are working only because we are out-talenting the competition, we're certainly not out-scheminmg them.

This is probably the most accurate summation, imo.

The current dynamic is a combination of factors listed above. Solve one and we get slightly better. Solve two, and we get noticeably better. Solve all three, and no one can beat us.
