what do we have - like 8 straight games vs the birds? these southern eagles from jawja, then the fgcu eagles, then north florida: pesky ospreys (of course we have those "war damn ospreys" that fly over the mac so we're used to that particular bird)....then those ugly tornatious ibises come to town.

GA Southern is a good quality team by the way. This will be no walk in the park. Very tough opponent for a mid week game.

The schedule is just insane this year. In addition to an even more loaded than usual SEC, plus of course FSU and Miami, we have Florida Gulf Coast, Indiana, and FAU all picked as conference champions by Baseball America. That comprises 44 of the Gators 56 games. Not to mention we always have a target on our backs versus the in state schools and have lost at various times over the years to UNF, USF, and UCF.
If a team this young can navigate this schedule and get to the postseason, it will be a very nice accomplishment.

I agree, we have our work cut out for us. One good thing, if they do come out in the playoffs....they will in deed be ready to the competition.
