Well, sure. Makes sense. The problem is that the West will be a bit tougher this year. Year 2 for Sumlin at A&M, LSU certainly isn't dead and even though they're young and have some work to do, Ole Miss is making strides.
It is logical "why", but the road will be a bit tougher and it's difficult to stay on top year after year. The law of averages will catch up at some point.
Again, makes sense, but I would guess OSU has a pretty good chance just due to the lack of competition in conference. That played out this year.

Take a detailed look at Bama's Schedule. It is actually a pretty easy schedule all things considered.
Date Opponent Site
Aug. 31......... Virginia Tech.............................. Atlanta, Ga.
Sept. 14......... *at Texas A&M............................ College Station, Texas
Sept. 21......... Colorado State............................. Bryant-Denny Stadium
Sept. 28......... *Ole Miss..................................... Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 5............ Georgia State............................... Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 12.......... *at Kentucky............................... Lexington, Ky.
Oct. 19.......... *Arkansas.................................... Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 26.......... *Tennessee.................................. Bryant-Denny Stadium
Nov. 9........... *LSU.............................................. Bryant-Denny Stadium
Nov. 16......... *at Mississippi State................. Starkville, Miss.
Nov. 23......... Chattanooga................................. Bryant-Denny Stadium
Nov. 30......... *at Auburn................................... Auburn, Ala.
The entire season, they have no back to back road games, they also have a breather, either a bye or lower tier opponent before and after each tough opponent, and drew the 2 weakest teams from the SEC east. They only have 1 3 week stretch vs bcs level opponents and those teams are Kentucky, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Somebody in the SEC scheduling office, set Alabama up with a perfect schedule. It could not be set up any easier for them.

Big surprise. Anyway, you never know, Saban and UM may cross paths once again. Should be interesting.

'Bama will always have one of the two or three best teams in the country under Saban. Peerless personnel evaluation, great coaching, and unmatched gameday preparation with time to prepare will give you three national titles in four seasons. They're loaded again this year.

The bama people I know are telling me this alabama team coming up may be better than any of the last 3 title teams. That doesn't make me feel good.

There only weakness will be in the secondary, their line will be as good if not better than the previous 3, they have 3-4 wrs that cannot be covered man to man by many teams outside of Florida and LSU's secondary. They will be a tough squad but like I said not making it to Atlanta this year, will be a big disappointment, the East is ours to lose.

Bama can stumble, just like anybody else.

I get tired of it too, man. But they're good. That's not going to change this year.

Well said. There is no reason why we cant take GA and SC. We need Jeff to work his @ss off on passing and staying clear of pocket pressure. In addition, our WRs recruited should see some action with Joker taking over coaching.

Who was the last pre-season favorite to win the title? I know Georgia/USC were the top two teams going into this past season. Oklahoma was the favorite the season prior. I know Auburn wasn't the favorite to win it all in 2010. We were in 2009. USC was in 2008. Not sure about 2007, but I doubt it was LSU. We were not in 2006. USC was in 2005.

My biggest concern (outside of how the GATORS do ) is that an undefeated Oregon and an undefeated Ohio State play for the title ahead of multiple one-loss SEC teams.

This is very troubling to me as well. Ohio state could cake walk their way through the big ten again and you know they would be getting all the hype like Notre dame did this year. Hopefully bama's dismantling of the Irish went a long way to reminding the voters to not be deceived by an undefeated team from up north again.
Luckily this should be the last season we have to worry about that.

Unfortunately it won't be, the selection committee for the playoff spots will continue to overvalue big10 land football.

True. But at least they would have to go through the SEC plus the Oregons, Oklahomas, Stanfords, etc TWICE to win it all. If they did that then I wouldn't have a problem with it because at least they would have earned it.

I know what you mean it would be a shame the media is going to do everything in their power to get Ohio state in the NC.
I find it hard to believe that Ohio state will go undefeated this year last year they had no pressure which helped them out a lot IMO.
Like you said only 1 more year of this crap.

As long as Saban is there, his asst. coaches can come and go, and his recruiting classes can also, but the winning formula remains through Saban.
He can recruit and teach and get his coaches and players to buy into his system, and the way he develops the right players for his system, separates Bama from every other program.
Every year is different even with the same players, but the brand he brings that molds his team into consistency year in and out is rare in D1 football.

Ohio State has the best opportunity to play for it all next year. It is just that easy for them. Beat Michigan and go play for the championship. Now, you know the reason Meyer went to OSU.
