If you mean Federhofer, he ended up losing his match....very disappointing since he is a guy they need to be winning in that 6 slot.
Great job with doubles, something FSU had been very good at thus far. Probably the most encouraging sign this early in the season.
I will just never figure out Bob VO, flashes of brilliance but I'm not sure he is ever going to really put it together. Just can't ever seem to get on a roll and put together a string of voctories that could make him a top 20 type player (which I think he has the talent to be).

Solid win today in Tallahassee. Great crowd and the Gators handled them very well. They were very quiet after we posted the doubles point victory. This set the tone for the entire match because FSU had not lost a doubles point yet this year.

what is shelton doing different this season from what jackson typically did? is there difference in conditioning or philosophy/tactics? gators are more aggressive in doubles play - at the net, etc? anything else?

Coach Shelton's philosophy is to come forward period in doubles. He also favors an all court game in singles rather then sitting at the baseline and grinding all the time. As his program is established you will see more and more all court players coming into the program.
Conditioning has always been a big part of the tennis program. These kids dedicate themselves to fitness and work hard daily on it in the gym and on the track. Tennis today is no longer just about practicing your skills on the tennis court.

I think this year will be a good one, but next year may be special by adding in Hidalgo and Newman along with a phenomenal recruiting class.

Interesting there was a big article in the Tally newspaper, (if you can call it that), about how the Noles where focusing on beating the Gators in this match. Then I had to go searching all over the internet to find out we beat them soundly. Typical.
