Defense wins championships, but...
...you need a QB who can at least make a few pass completions. What we saw last night was a case of a great D that was let down by an atrocious offense. Mettenberger seems to me like the worst QB you could possibly have: can't run, can't throw and has a pineapple for a brain.

The kid is getting bashed sufficiently on several threads. Is a new bashing thread really needed? The OP adds nothing to the issue.

Not if you can somehow figure out a way to compare UF to LSU.

I believe he will be much better next year. Towards the end of the year, he started to show improvement. I just would not count him out.

Agreed. I thought he looked like a completely different player in the Bama game, where he played quite well.

But when you know the kid can't run and can't think, its easy to game plan for him. At least we have a QB who can run and who can throw the ball. Mett couldn't hit a receiver who was wide open and was 5 yards away.

Mettenberger had to go through his growing pains this year just like any other young QB. I think he's going to be a pretty good one IMO.

This isn't his first rodeo. I think he transferred from Michigan. You would expect his fundamentals to be solid.

He was basically kicked out of the Poodle program, where I believe his mother still works for.
I'm not impressed with him. I don't see where he will be among the top tier in the SEC in QB play next year. He has a great arm and that's about it. Slow as sin and little poise, which will bring you down every time.

And had to learn an entirely new system and learn from a new QB's coach.
Listen, I'm not saying he's going to be the second coming of John Elway, I just think he has a big arm and is going to better than people are giving him credit for.
