one area where the Gators struggled Wednesday night — establishing Patric Young in the post. Part of it had to do with some sloppy entry passes and part of it had to do with Young’s inability to hold onto the ball. But many of UF’s 12 first-half turnovers were the result of poor post feeds.

“We’ve got to do a better job in practice,” Donovan said. “We’ve got to work on that because there are times Patric has got great post position and we are not getting him the ball and then we did throw it, we turn the ball over.”

After two games, UF players with the most
Turn-overs:
Patric Young: 9
Will Yuguete: 7
Mike Rosario: 5
Mike Frazier: 5
Kenny Boynton: 3
Interestingly, Erik Murphy only turned the ball over once this season.
One thing the passer could do when being guarded closely is to pump fake/head fake to try to throw off the defender before passing the ball in to the post. From what I saw when the guards were trying to feed the post, Boynton/Rosario have mostly thrown in a bounce pass - they could also try throwing in a lob pass to Young.
Against Wisconsin, Rosario did throw a couple of nifty lob passes to Young (but also had a couple of turnovers when attempting to do so again) when they were doing that pick 'n roll play early in that game!
What else can these players do to try to improve the post feeds?
