But that's a misconception too. Not only are we living longer than ever, we're living longer actively than ever. Many diseases are down. And one reason that some diseases are up is because we're living long enough to get them! If life expectancy were more in line with our Paleolithic ancestors many health fanatics lionize, we'd never live long enough to get heart disease and cancer.
Ex: a former client of mine wanted to lose about fifty pounds. His mom lived to be 94. His dad lived well into his 80's. But because of his weight, his physician prescribed statins, presumably for the hell of it.
