Gimme a break. For all the whining on here about Bama not getting hold calls, the facts simply show otherwise. Every game this season except a few of the shutouts (Auburn 49-0, and a couple of the cupcake teams where 3rd string was playing by 3q) Bama was called for holding. And every time it happens, the game threads explode with talk of how rare it is. Every single week, this happened. Statistically, Bama was on par this year with their opponents in terms of holding calls. Maybe the large # of penalties UF seems to rack up is reflective of a lack of discipline, and it probably doesn't help when the coach is screaming and spitting in the refs face every game.
You also can't blame league bias when, statistically, holding has been called on Bama in OOC matchups with refs from other leagues at a rate that is on par with that of SEC matchups.
How often does Bama get called for false start or illegal procedure? Almost never. That's purely a discipline thing, so it makes sense that they would be less penalized in every aspect. Not to mention that, by scheme, Bama's blocking is less likely to induce a hold call. Man blocking schemes are much more prone to these penalties, not the zone blocking scheme Bama uses.
