So, to bump this thread for obviously self-serving gratification - my son played a bunch of JV and about 5 games of varsity football (3rd string) this season as a sophomore. Fullback (his best position) and inside linebacker (his preferred position) at both levels. A few noted yards running and catching on Maxpreps (a parents dream to see their kid's name and stats online!).
His team won a state championship this season and he (and I) feels like he was an integral part as a time consuming player and scout team animal! Just want to toot my son's horn - he is a good kid and takes it seriously!
I have no illusions about his ultimate potential - he will ultimately be a good high school football and lacrosse player that will ultimately go to college on my dime. But man, I can't even begin to imagine the fun he is having right now! I never played on a team that sniffed state greatness and he has been there already and has so many more opportunities! #livingvicariously (and loving it!)
