As expected, running backs Marcus Dixon and Ray Lewis III dominated the first half. Dixon rushed for a 122 yards and two touchdowns and Lewis for 92 yards and one score.

Lewis, however, came into the game nursing groin and wrist injuries and was unable to continue in the second half. The Griffins were also without second-leading rusher Jeremiah Sams, who has been out with an ACL injury.
